Sure. I strongly suggest that you read the Newbie Guide to Recording. You will find a link to it under Point to of the initial post of the project thread. (Read of of that, too, because it has instructions for the project). But, here is the link: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Newbie_Guide_to_Recording
You will find all you need to know, under Point 2 of that Guide "Preliminary Test." The test is primarily to check out the technical aspects of your recording and any other issues that need to be addressed, and is not really an audition or anything.

If you still have questions, just ask.

While I do appreciate your enthusiasm, the correct procedure here on LibriVox is to wait until a claim has been acknowledged and assigned before recording and uploading files. There are good reasons to keep this order.

Nonetheless, I am happy to have your join this project. I have assigned these two sections to you and have put your recording into the Magic Window marked PL OK. It is a very fine reading, and we are glad to include it. I look forward to your next one.

One final request - please post just the file link and the length mm:ss
All of the other information you included is extraneous.

Thanks again for you contribution! :)

Section 8 is PL OK

Section 42: at the start of verse 5 you say "But" rather than "And". Up to you if you want to change that.

Section 43: Title read as "What of Night".

I have not run checker on these as I assume you would have done that yourself.

Thanks so much, Alan. Much appreciated.
I'll get on those corrections tonight.

30 and 37 are PL OK
Love "Ghosts" I read that for a short poetry collection because I live in the woods of "cold New Englan."

Number 6, "Wind," however, I think needs a major change.

I'm sure that the poet intends the word "bow" to be pronounce like "taking a bow" (rhyming with "cow") rather than "bow" as in bow and arrow or a bow shape.
I think it is clearest in the last stanza where the trees bow down and the heart bends in like manner.

If you want to make a case for your interpretation, I'll go with that, so let me know what you think.

Lovely expression in all of these poems! :)

WDowling89 wrote: October 20th, 2020, 8:05 pm Hello There,
I would like to record section 7 "The Speckled Trout".

Thank you!
Sure! I've added you in for this section.
Please let me know how you would like to be listed in the LV reader catalog - real name, pseudonym or any nickname you wish. This is how you will be credited for all of your LibriVox work.

ALSO - Please complete the corrections on your one-minute test as Phil outlined for you, and get an okay so we know you have your settings and volume correct before you record this poem.

Let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you!
I would like to be listed as William Dowling
I have completed the necessary corrections and I am waiting to hear back from Phil :D

First, it is important to read and follow all of the directions for posting.
This file name is incorrect. Here is the format from the instructions:

Save files as
128 kbps MP3
anthologyofmagazineverse1913_##_braithwaite_128kb.mp3 (all lower-case) where ## is the section number (e.g. anthologyofmagazineverse1913_01_braithwaite_128kb.mp3)

So you need to upload this again with the correct name.

I checked the specs and the volume is just barely at the lower range. It would be good to amplify it by about 2-2.5 dB

Also, as the instructions state, please leave ~5 seconds of silence at the end, and post the file length in mm:ss

My small sample of the reading itself sounded fine.
