Ok! I will work on getting that completed and withdraw my claim for now. Thank you!knotyouraveragejo wrote: ↑October 12th, 2020, 11:39 amHi and Welcome to LibriVox. I will assign you sections 10 & 11, however, I see that you have not yet submitted a 1-minute test which is strongly recommended to check that all the technical requirements are good before recording a full chapter. (The poem that you have submitted to the Fortnightly Poetry has some technical issues, starting with low volume, that will need to be addressed.)
http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/1-Minute_Test
Also, please have a look at the NewbieGuideToRecording and also read carefully through all the notes in the first post of this thread if you haven't already done so.
I'll also need to know by what name you would like to be listed in the catalog. If you have a personal website, that can be linked as well.
Thanks!

Thanks for section 9, Alan. MW updated. Lots of English sparrows in the Mid-Atlantic States - haven't seen any so far since moving to FL.

I won't re-record, but it might take a few days to re-upload if I don't fix my microphone today...I think I'll need to ask someone to see if there's a problem with it. Sorry about the mistakes, I edited my recordings, how did I miss that? Thanks.silverquill wrote: ↑October 15th, 2020, 9:09 pmWell, congratulations on your reading of Section 4! Happy to mark it PL OK.spatel2 wrote: ↑October 15th, 2020, 3:05 pm Hi! Here are the re-uploaded sections:
Section 2: https://librivox.org/uploads/knotyouraveragejo/birdsmay1898_02_various_128kb.mp3 (2:14)
Section 4: https://librivox.org/uploads/knotyouraveragejo/birdsmay1898_04_various_128kb.mp3 (4:44)
Section 5: https://librivox.org/uploads/knotyouraveragejo/birdsmay1898_05_various_128kb.mp3 (3:07)
Thanks.
For section 2, the ending is still not right. I should be just, "End of Section 2. This recording is in the public domain."
Also, you must have recorded the author's name again, because I now hear, "Eugene FEED, instead of FIELD" This was correct on the first recording.
And, for Section 5, the intro and ending are still the same. No need to record the entire thing again, just the corrections. Do them just like you did on Section 4.
I'll be away for a few days, but will listen to any corrections soon.

Section 8 on The Black-Necked Stilt is finished.
I had some difficulty with the text in this one.
It is written as "At such times its legs are as fully extended as its legs, the latter often dangling as it retreats." Said sentence makes no sense. After researching it online and based on early text, I opted to go with text that says, "At such times its head is as fully extended as its legs, the latter often dangling as it retreats."
If you want me to go with it as written, let me know and I'll change it.
