At the end when I read "Richard Barnfield, Old English poet" I was tempted to add "Read by Alan Mapstone, Old English reader"
Another PL OK.
Thank you, Alan!

Excellent reading!
I've marked this PL OK.

Just one suggestion -- I think this would be improved by some moderate noise reduction to bring down the background hum, although it is within our acceptable threshold. Again, very good reading.

Thank you so much.

Thank you for your kind words, Larry. I appreciate it! :)

Here's my recording after running it through noise cleaning.

What range is considered ideal for background noise level?

Thanks again,

Great! I think this does sound better, so whatever settings you used is good.

I don't know if there is an actual measurement of background noise.
Maybe a sound engineer or someone with more knowledge than I have, could tell you.
I think some ambient noise is good, but in general it should not be noticeable. This sounds good.
I always run my files through noise reduction. Someday, if I get a more professional "studio" set up, I won't need to.

Anyway, excellent reading, and I hope we'll hear a lot more of your voice here on LibriVox!

OK great! I'll use the decibel level number after I ran it through noise cleaning as a guide for future recordings. Thank you so much!

Well, this will be a nice surprise for Jo!
I know you've been working too hard, so appreciate your getting this in.
