Hi and Welcome to LibriVox. I will assign you sections 10 & 11, however, I see that you have not yet submitted a 1-minute test which is strongly recommended to check that all the technical requirements are good before recording a full chapter.  (The poem that you have submitted to the Fortnightly Poetry has some technical issues, starting with low volume, that will need to be addressed.)

http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/1-Minute_Test

Also, please have a look at the NewbieGuideToRecording and also read carefully through all the notes in the first post of this thread if you haven't already done so.

I'll also need to know by what name you would like to be listed in the catalog. If you have a personal website, that can be linked as well.

Thanks!

Hi there! I see that #23 is open, and I'd love to claim it. This would be my first LibriVox recording, and I'll stick with the 'bletheringape' pseudonym. Note: I haven't submitted a 1-minute test yet, but will do so shortly. Thanks!

Hi and welcome. I will put you in for section 23, but yes, please complete your 1-minute test before staring on this recording.

As this will be your first recording for Librivox, please have a look at the NewbieGuideToRecording and also read carefully through all the notes in the first post of this thread if you haven't already done so. In particular, please note that we have a 1 month deadline for these magazines, instead of the normal 2 month deadline in most projects. :)

I've added you to the reader database. You can see this on your catalog page at http://librivox.org/reader/15106

If you click on the link for Reader Section Details below your username you will find a summary table showing the status of all the sections that you have signed up to read in open projects.  Click on any of the thread titles in this list to navigate to the thread on the forum.

Thanks for your files spatel2. These aren't late at all. There is a month deadline for this project so no worries. We do however, need you to please post the time for each recording in mm:ss when you paste the links. :)

Thanks! :)
First of all, thank you for your lovely recordings.
There are just a few issues.

The link for Section 4 doesn't work. It looks okay, so please check to make sure you actually uploaded this.

Then, for all of the sections, you used the incorrect intro and ending. It is different for these short pieces:
===
For poems and prose sections less than 800 words, you may use the short disclaimer that we typically use for poems.
START of recording (Intro)
["Section [number] of Birds, Volume 3, No 5, May 1898. Recorded for LibriVox.org by [your name]" (If you do not wish to say your name in the recording, you can just say "Recorded for LibriVox.org")
Say:
"[Title of Section]"

END of recording
At the end of the section, say:
"End of Section [number]. This recording is in the public domain"
===

Then there are a couple of mistakes to fix:

Section 2 1:21 Text: Will surely do my darlings good!"
I hear, “Would surely my darlings good.”

Section 5 2:20 Text: “the earth heaped up around to form a sort of wall”
I hear: “we are heaped around to form a sort of wall”

Just upload your corrected recordings with the same file name, and give us the new file length as, mm:ss

Thanks again for recording for this project!

Thank you for your first recording!
I've marked it PL OK. We really don't need, "This recording is in the public domain" at the end because that disclaimer is in the intro for this longer piece, but it's okay.

Hope to hear more of your voice here on LibriVox!

I fixed this. There was an extra underscore in the filename which I have removed on the server. The link in the MW should now be working.

Well, congratulations on your reading of Section 4! Happy to mark it PL OK.

For section 2, the ending is still not right. I should be just, "End of Section 2. This recording is in the public domain."
Also, you must have recorded the author's name again, because I now hear, "Eugene FEED, instead of FIELD" This was correct on the first recording.

And, for Section 5, the intro and ending are still the same. No need to record the entire thing again, just the corrections. Do them just like you did on Section 4.

I'll be away for a few days, but will listen to any corrections soon.
