Chapter 32-outro says “end of chapter 22” instead of 32. Everything else in 32 is pl ok!

And chapters 33-37 are PL OK! I feel like the author ran out of steam a bit, or I’m too expectant of a bigger climax from modern books, but the final confrontation was a bit of a let down. Overall I enjoyed it though, I really enjoyed your reading of it. Please do let me know if you start another one and need a DPL!

Re Tickencote, I agree the windup was pretty ho-hum. I considered doing another book by Le Queux, but it ends the same way: get the treasure, marry the girl, live happily ever after.

Need a good tragedy to spice it up.
