ok that was a shorty and he sounds so solemn, you at least took out all you could from this role. Thank you, it's PL ok.

Luis will take a bit longer to PL this guy is quite verbose ! I fear we need to split the acts if his single role already adds up to over 40 minutes.

That was an interesting read.

now that was an interesting role ! And wow, Adrian, you had your work cut out for you. This guy is a big talker (and a homicidal maniac ) You play him to perfection, and I love the gruffer voice you're doing. At instances you really sound a bit crazed out, which gives the reader that extra shudder.

I have a few notes, but seeing how long the role was, it's not that many. It was really a great performance. I pity the actual actor who has to learn all these lengthy monologues by heart

Act 1:

> at 10:37: repeat "without friends" – one version can get cut

> at 13:25: "such wild ruin and resemblence" – I hear "rule"

Act 2:

> at 5:12: "the remembrance of my wronger" – you say "resemblance"

Act 3:

> at 11:42-11:46: between "Are his justice and his mercy" and "with the latter, not the former" – you can shorten the long pause, because it's in the same chunk of speech

> at 13:32: repeat of "public were my sins, and so" – one version can be cut

> at about 16:15: missed "aside" lines:
"My hopes are fair.
Let me not feel, O Lord! the anguish of despair,
Seeing before my startled sight
My greatest, deepest crime arise;
Let not the fiend my soul that tries,
Subdue me in this dreadful fight."

> at 24:20: repeat of "of my sharp sword: two nights" – one version can be cut

> at 26:17: "with my lids thus closed together" – you say "eyes". May be optional as the meaning is unchanged, but "eyes closed together" sounds a bit strange, while "lids" sounds just fine

> at 36:19-36:23: between "and penance" and "that it was the Purgatory" – you can shorten the pause, it's within the same quote

> at 38:46: "white and green and red were blended" - you say "gold". Maybe the colours don't matter much, but I thought maybe he invokes these three colours to remember the flag of Ireland (not sure whether Calderon would have know the modern Irish colours though, so maybe this idea is historically incorrect )

> at 40:49: I think you may have missed the final lines of the play:
"For with this the history closes,
As it is to us presented
By Dionysius the Carthusian,
With Henricus Salteriensis,
Matthew Paris, Ranulph Higden,

Though maybe we should wait for Todd's thoughts on this. Since there is no other role mentioned for the final lines, usually that means that the same reader should go on reading this. Luis, having the final speech, could well go on asking for applause and figuring as sort of epilogue.
