COMPLETE-Catena Aurea: commentary on the four Gospels, collected out of the works of the Fathers (St. John - Part 1)-lny
Sections 8 and 9 have a few substantive errors:
Section 8

8:25 and Jesus (not John) asks seventhly
13:54 and his own previous longings (not lodgings) after him
Section 9
1:21 in wisdom or stature (not statue)
3:06 the city of Andrew and Peter (not Philip)
5:43 He had searched the Scriptures (not Had he searched)
6:20 out of the land of Judah (not Judea)
9:04 of a temper (not tempter) to need the Physician
Otherwise, PL OK!

Easy enough, changes made.
It's handy how you give the context. It saves me looking up the text to read it.

More changes to make:
Section 10
:27 And when they <had> wanted wine
5:34 some who derogate (not degradate) from the Gospel
13:43 it is one thing to change the quality (not quantity) of some existing substance
14:12 For <if> we see He performs
21:54 the second, from Noah (not Adam) to Abraham
Section 11
:29 add Chrysostom as narrator
8:56 when the people had bought (not brought) and offered them afterwards
11:19 Chrysostom (not Augustine) is narrator
14:01 God enters His Church (not House) spiritually
15:06 abandon the watchful care (not state) of them
15:41 whatsoever was to be performed (not formed) with regard to
16:21 translated to the believing from among the Gentiles
19:18 the life and the doctrine of such were alike reprobate (not retrobate)
Section 12
5:05 Then said the Jews (not Jesus)
5:44 may with reference to the four corners of the temple
6:46 in twelve more (not most) is consolidated
7:48 the first <six> letters of these words make Adam
I compliment you on your pickups--they are remarkably consistent in tone, pacing, and volume with the text as originally recorded, something I struggle with.

OK changes made.
The patches on this one aren't too bad. Luckily it's the same room with the same mic.
The patches on this one aren't too bad. Luckily it's the same room with the same mic.
A few changes for section 13:
5:25 verses 4 (not 1) through 8
7:23 but usest to <tell> they master a word which brings in endless confusion
7:36 how God became incarnate? not how can God become incarnate?
9:31 For as in the beginning though (not through) the element of water was (not is) the subject-matter
10:49 but souls rational and endued with the Spirit
11:02 but he shall not enter into the kingdom of God (not Heaven)
13:27 so is everyone that is born of the Spirit
16:21 this completely refutes Macedonius, the impugner of the Spirit. Impugner should be pronounced im-puhn-er (long u sound and the g is silent)
I'll get caught up on the spot PLs over time.

Notes on sections 14 and 15:
Section 14
1:36 He hath declared not to disagree (not disgrace) with the title of Son of Man
2:01 is so far more removed from us
3:45 though the natural qualities of her sex contributed <to> its birth and increase
7:46 Wherefore He does not say (not Wherefore does He not say)
8:08 As then formerly he who looked to the serpent (not servant) was lifted up
9:12 that the one recovered from temporal (not temporeal) death
10:54 And the act which springs from the love is equally indicative of its vastness
11:56 not meaning that His flesh did <not> come down from heaven
12:16 who was possible (not impossible)
13:24 for for no other cause came He into the world
17:09 and are not thought worthy of being convicted
Section 15: The MW indicates verses 9-30 instead of 19-30
:41 and why they are justly condemned (not why are they justly condemned)
12:03 For the disciples of John did <not> become so envious of Christ's disciples
21:12 whoever in his good works seeketh (not seeth) not his own glory
22:37 that ours also may increase in God
Thanks,

Changes made again and I uploaded Section 17. I don't know what happened there.
The only correction I passed over was plentiful / bountiful harvest. I figured the meaning was the same.

Just getting caught up on PLs this morning.
Be sure to update the times in the Magic Window for sections 6 (now 26:00), 11 (now 20:29), 14 (now 18:35), 16 (now 13:12), and 18 (now 23:14). And the MW still indicates that section 15 is verses 9-30 instead of 19-30.
Section 13 at 5:25 now says versus 5 through 8 instead of 4 through 8. The first half of the patch in Section 14 at 2:01 is barely audible for some reason. Could you check on these?
I'll listen to section 17 and start on the rest later this week.
Thanks,

FYI: I changed the title slightly on this project in order to match your St. Matthew readings. https://librivox.org/search?q=catena&search_form=advanced

OK changes made, including that inaudible section.
Thank you Linny for changing the title to match the rest.

Just 3 substantive corrections to section 17:
6:26 The particular (not principal) place to which our Lord went is next given (p. 136, about 2/3 of the way down the page)
8:48 As if to say, not (not sat) on a seat, or a couch (middle of p. 137)
10:38 the second from Noah to Abraham (not to Adam) (top of p. 138)
Otherwise, PL OK.

Substantive corrections to section 20:
1:58 He (not they) would not consent (bottom of p. 160)
4:09 Know that this is indeed the Savior of the world (bottom of p. 161)
6:10 Do you want to introduce verses 43-45 before reading them? (bottom of p. 162)
6:49 For He (not it) would seem to have testified more to the truth (bottom of p. 162)
12:24 as by those they (not who) had seen at Jerusalem (middle of 165)
14:07 as if his only object (not subject) was to put Christ's power to the test (top of 166)
16:28 as he thought our Lord could not heal in the absence of the (not a) sick person (bottom of 166)
19:09 the latter is the true and received meaning (bottom of 167)
Section 21:
2:03 After this there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus (not the Jews) went up to Jerusalem (middle of 171)
5:22 But as the soul itself did not know its Restorer (not Redeemer) (middle of 172)
5:27 line of text missing: as it had eyes in the flesh to discern visible things, but not in the heart wherewith to (middle of 172)
8:03 Two commands (not commandments) were given upon his cure (middle of 173)
15:50 except that thou shouldest raise thyself from thy torpor (not tuper) and indolence (middle of 176)
In addition, I have not heard Bethesda pronounced as you do (Beth-say-da), but rather Beh-thes-da. Could you check on that? It occurs at :25 and again at 2:35. Otherwise, both sections are PL OK.

OK problems fixed, including Bethesda.
This is great you are catching all these errors. It will definitely make for a better final production.
Btw, there is no need to put the location of the page. I can do a text search and find the location easily enough.
