I am not able to find the poem on it's own in Dutch. There are a couple of English versions on archive.org, but those use the first line in Dutch as the title. In that case I will re-record the intro with the first line as the title.
yes that's the standard way of dealing with a poem without official title, as I mentioned before. You can leave out the stage play if it's not particularly from that play.TheDoctor40 wrote: ↑September 23rd, 2020, 6:10 am I am not able to find the poem on it's own in Dutch. Ok, I'll wait for the correction. No hurry yet, we are not finished with the project yet

After PM discussion with Vivienne, we agreed that we could "rescue" the sections from the abandoned Chinese project "Wandering" by Xun Lu (1881-1936). There are 3 sections that we can take over here, the other 2 unfortunately are not yet in the PD.
I will contact a Chinese Prooflistener who agreed to check against the Gutenberg source once again. http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/24042
If the text is identical, then we can use the sections here in this project. Vivienne is still around and can do corrections, Jing unfortunately hasn't replied to my PM and has not logged in for some time, so she may probably not be available anymore. Let's see the verdict of the PL first.
To update the MW, here are the details. I don't know an "alphabetical" order for Chinese, so I let you decide for that Michael The same for the transcription. Maybe our DPL can help.

Okay, I recorded the parts which needed to be changed and did my best to edit them in as nicely as possible. It's my first time editing so do tell me if there's things I can do nicer next time.Kitty wrote: ↑September 23rd, 2020, 6:12 amyes that's the standard way of dealing with a poem without official title, as I mentioned before. I'm glad this is going forward! There are several alternative methods for sorting Chinese, but since these stories have a standard order in the collection from which they were excerpted, I suggest we use that.Kitty wrote: ↑September 23rd, 2020, 11:18 am After PM discussion with Vivienne, we agreed that we could "rescue" the sections from the abandoned Chinese project "Wandering" by Xun Lu (1881-1936). wow it is perfect editing in my opinion. If that was your first time, you are a natural. You should have heard my first attempts at editing But here you barely hear a difference in sound. Granted, the Blue Yeti also helps, because the sound is so good (I first had a very bad and cheap microphone before I switched to the Yeti - never regretted it).TheDoctor40 wrote: ↑September 23rd, 2020, 1:09 pmOkay, I recorded the parts which needed to be changed and did my best to edit them in as nicely as possible. Congrats to your very first official PL ok section Hopefully you liked it and we'll hear plenty more. Did you have a look at the stage play already ? Or is acting not your thing ?

Thank you!
I checked it out, yes, but I'm not sure if acting is really for me. Also I'm not sure if the roles are a good fit for me. Both roles require a slightly older voice and one of them needs to be a bit raspy, which I'm not good at I will keep an eye out for other Dutch projects if they come by, maybe I can contribute then
But I'm also fine at doing English parts, because I quite enjoy speaking the language!
Gilbert
hey we have a great English drama forum !!! If you like this, we can always use new enthusiastic voices. I am quite hooked on drama if you check out Todd's projects, I will be DPL in many of them. Maybe I'll see you around there.TheDoctor40 wrote: ↑September 24th, 2020, 6:42 amBut I'm also fine at doing English parts, because I quite enjoy speaking the language!

this should not deter you though. The good thing in audio-only is that it doesn't matter what age you are or how you look. I have already played 16-year old girls, and very senile old men and everything in between. You can do a lot with your voice if you want, you'd be surprised
