PL Notes Gallegher 07 The Other Woman

SachinV.
Volume at 95, is way too high, I recommend you de Amplify -5.
You talk very fast throughout this recording, which often results in words slurred together throughout the file. Here are just a few examples:
fer mother had lived. (If her mother had lived).
din that month (did in that month),
Dyew mean (Do you mean),
stoonadoorway (stood in the doorway)
In future recordings, I recommend that you slow down a bit, and in this recording that you apply the Tempo effect -3 (which sometimes improves such slurs!)

Based on the errors cited below (which are not uncommon in anyone's initial recordings), be aware that you need to proof listen your own work more carefully before sending it in for a final proofing. My own process is to proof listen by ear, then proof again following along with the text (which catches many more errors). General rule of thumb is it takes 4 times longer to edit than to record, and those are just the realities of the process. Here is a neat tutorial on Cutting Words and Replacing Mistakes in Audacity. So here we go.

5:14 I say this because unless you had shown me this confidence, unless is missing
6:17 stumble - I have no other pl-pleasure than to (no need to re-record, just edit out the extra 'pl')
10:22 someone is talking in the background. It is during a silence so could be replaced with a bit of silence from the back end of the file.
11:08 I am afraid I kept out of it not so much out of respect for others, not is missing
11":57 I know you are a gentleman, but that is enough for that; edit out the word 'but'
12:06 repeat so, so considering, delete second so
13:59 repeat "or that, or rather that", delete 'or that'
14:07 either by more any moral law, delete 'more'
14:45 dead coals dropping in the grate, you say gate
15:21 that if the conditions which you dig suggest did exist, delete dig
17:09 the young man made a movement as to as if to speak. delete as to
17:54 a man as I am, or I or try to be. delete or I
1 7:57 “Do you mean,” said asked the bishop, delete said
18:59 stumble.... cl-exclaimed the father, delete cl
19:10 stumble.... she moved as is as though she was tired, delete as is
22:38 and not give way to it that I am whatever I am to-day, you say give away
23:00 repeat: that you were the reward for me, for my having overcome, delete for me.
23:05 and the sign that I had done well, you say son

As this project is nearing completion, I would like you to attend to this within a week if possible. Thanks very much, and don't get discouraged. LV is a big learning curve for all of us.

Thank you and all is much improved. Volume within range. I am trying to account for the additional 40 seconds of length, and presume it is because you lowered the tempo. If that is correct I can mark the file PL OK. If not, then something else might be amiss.

Section 11 The Cynical Miss Catherwaight is PL OK
What a great story! A collector of dishonored honors . . . and you serendipitously the perfect one to read it . . . for I can't remember having ever heard you so animated.

Section 7 is PL OK, and this project is ready to be catalogued. I've changed the summary a bit, and I can't see the keywords, so here are some to add:
short stories, adventure, romance

Thanks to Mary Ann and all our readers, who did a great job bringing these stories to life. The cover is uploaded and waiting for it to be linked is all that's left to put this project in the can. I had a grand time and hope to see you all around the LV playground. :9:
