For the time being, I'll need a little more time than usual to PL sections that come in on weekdays. Thanks for your patience.

Michele, I apologize, I somehow overlooked that you have the introduction ready for PL. I'll get right on that!

Please disregard my earlier request for run times - it turns out they're usually not needed for parts in dramatic works unless I need to check for a possible upload problem, which isn't the case here! Thanks for your patience, I'm still learning the ins and outs of PLing.shreyasethi wrote: ↑September 19th, 2020, 11:02 am Hello!!!

So did I, especially the "calamniating" line! Act 2 sounds great. Just a few notes:alanmapstone wrote: ↑September 20th, 2020, 2:06 am Holroyd act 2

At 2:41, "I've as much sense as thäigh," you say "I've as much sense as they."
At 3:18, "if I don't know what I'm talking about," you say, "as if I didn't know what I was talking about."
Thanks!

Hi! Thanks for the PL. I am not entirely sure how "thäigh" should be pronounced. Any suggestions?Scarbo wrote: ↑September 21st, 2020, 2:46 pmAt 2:41, "I've as much sense as thäigh," you say "I've as much sense as they."alanmapstone wrote: ↑September 20th, 2020, 2:06 am Holroyd act 2

I admit to being a US English speaker, so I'm not familiar with the nuances of Midlands dialect (and if anyone who happens to be reading this is, your input is welcome). But elsewhere in Holroyd's dialogue you pronounce it "thy" or "tha," which I think would be fine and would make the meaning of this phrase clear to listeners.alanmapstone wrote: ↑September 22nd, 2020, 2:48 amHi! Interestingly, I did an internet search for "thäigh" to see whether there was any pronunciation guidance out there, and except for one site that seemed to be random gibberish, this play was the only thing that came up!

My dialect is more English West Country (Gloucestershire) than East Midlands, but I will be surprised if many of our listeners can tell the difference
