It's sort of taken. Before you start recording part of a book we ask you to record a test piece first. This isn't an audition so much as to check that you can produce a file that meets LibriVox's technical specifications. Someone's already asked for the section but hasn't submitted that test file. If it still hasn't been done 2 months from the asking, I'll free that up again.

It's reserved for a while - someone asked to do it but hadn't yet submitted a 1-minute test so I'm holding it pending that. If I still don't hear back from the user, I'll free it up again two months from the original request.

12 Oct. If you're more interested in the 1001 nights generally than that particular passage, I'm just about to request to start volume 12, so that should be along considerably sooner.
