this is take '2' for sound, please let me know., fyi; on my preliminary test, I was only told where to correct the audio volume using replay gain & / or checker, I did not have to re-submit it. Thank you for assisting me with this.
so...,
I ran replay gain, I made an amplified adjustment, not sure if it is correct for sound. I have not yet figured out the checker download, apparently requires a zip application and I seen where it says it requires javalayer.
I have been viewing both your video tutorials to check out the correct process.
Dandelion Breeze
This is very good; please keep your settings just like this. Now I am going to ask you to export this file one more time but use the correct file naming procedure as shown in the first post of t his project,
Save files as
128 kbps MP3
diggeldydan_##_norwood_128kb.mp3 (all lower-case) where ## is the section number (e.g. diggeldydan_01_norwood_128kb.mp3)
In this case it would be diggeldydan_24_norwood_128kb
Audacity will add the mp3 when it exports it. Then upload it to this forum and post the link here. I will proof listen soon. Your voice is really really nice!

Hi Phil, I just realized this!!!! Something was wrong with the laptop settings so it could not convert to mp3 version, so I had to record it from the laptop onto another computer, that's why it sounded so loud! Recently, I changed the settings for the laptop, here is the recording.

https://librivox.org/uploads/philchenevert/diggeldydan_13_128kb.mp3 I'm sorry I'm don't know the duration

Thank you. The problem was that your recording was too soft, not too loud. The one you just uploaded is at 85 dB which is indeed a tiny bit louder I think but still not loud enough. There is a very loud spot at 9:38 where you yell fire. This keeps you from being able to amplify the tract at all so that word needs to be reduced by about 8 dB. Then the whole track needs to be amplified by 5 dB. This should bring you up to 89dB which is what we shoot at.
If you want I will make a quick little video showing how to do this if you don't know how to do it. Let me know, OK?

thank you again for your patient assistance.
i will admit, as i, (after) uploaded the take2 version, i realized i did not have the file name correct, so i greatly apologize that i did not go back and correct it then.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR ENCOURAGING WORDS OF SUPPORT, IT CHEERS MY HEART TO KNOW I'M GETTING THERE, TO ACTUALLY BE OF GOOD PURPOSE IN DOING AUDIO RECORDINGS.
also, I hope I've edited 'well',,, there are a couple things in it I still noticed, but sometimes a little wrong can be 'wrong' or distinctive....
HAPPY LISTENING.....!!

Yes, you are doing fine and have a wonderful future of recording before you. Just a note that at parts of the recording you seemed to get too close to the microphone causing rumbling noises. Not a huge problem, just something you might want to watch for. A delightful read ! Let me know if you have any question. Image
