Greetings -

Chapters 7, 8, and 9 have been added to the illustrious list of PL OK offerings in the MW.

Interesting. Re: John 9:5. Unlike other translations, YLT has Jesus saying, "I am a light of the world." instead of "I am the light of the world." Not sure that means anything but I found it curious.

Thank you! I'm sorry I've been neglecting "John." One can't really have a favorite Gospel, I suppose, but I do like the unique approach of John. And you're certainly right about the curious translation.

A sword?! Now I'm afraid to make a mistake. (Wink.)

Thank you!

lomond, by the way, are any of the early scouting materials in the public domain? Have we any in LibriVox? That would be a fun project!

I just heard from my den mother recently! What fun that was!

I PLed the book "On the Trail" which was an early guide for girl scouts and that was a lot of fun. As to early Boy Scout or Cub Scout books, I am not sure. Maybe one of the LV gurus will have an answer.

P.S. Chapter 12 is PL OK as well.

Depends on the edition. It appears some of the British ones would be, but none of the North American ones:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scouting_for_Boys#Editions
(1924 and earlier = PD)

Here's one: https://archive.org/details/in.ernet.dli.2015.97178/page/n5/mode/2up
School fiction: David Blaize
America Exploration: The First Four Voyages of Amerigo Vespucci
Serial novel: The Wandering Jew
Medieval England meets Civil War Americans: Centuries Apart
