Love Songs by Sara Teasdale (1884 - 1933).

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/love-songs-version-2-by-sara-teasdale/
With classical, lyrical tones, and frequently feminist-influenced themes, Sara Teasdale’s Love Songs established her as one of the leading writers in the new Romanticism movement. The book of poems, originally published in 1917, saw five additional printings before its 1918 edition owing to the tremendous demand for her work. The collection was selected as the 1918 winner of the Columbia University Poetry Prize (a precursor to the Pulitzer Prize for poetry). In spite of her commercial success and influence on other female poets such as Edna St. Vincent Millay, the style of Teasdale’s work fell out of fashion and has often been ignored in anthologies of work from that period. Here we offer a reading of the 1918 edition of her work. ( Elise Dee)
    1. How to claim a part, and "how it all works" here To find a section to record, simply look at point 5. below at the sections. All the ones without names beside them are "up for grabs." Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which section you would like to read (include the section number from the left-most column in the reader list, please). Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.
    2. New to recording? Please read our Newbie Guide to Recording!
    3. Is there a deadline? We ask that you submit your recorded sections within 1-2 months of placing your claim. Please note that to be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, if you haven't submitted your recording(s) after two months, your sections will automatically be re-opened for other readers to claim, unless you post in this thread to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool. There's no shame in this; we're all volunteers and things happen. Please do not sign up for more sections than you can complete within the two month deadline.
    4. Where do I find the text? Source text (please only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/442
    5. Please claim sections (the numbers in the first column below)! If this is your first recording, please let me know under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. We can also link to a personal website/blog.

Prospective Prooflisteners: Please read the Listeners Wanted FAQ before listening! Level of prooflistening requested: standard

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

OK, I think this is set up now. I've changed the intro/outro to conform to what was done in Songs of Love and Life.

P.S. This has been done as a group project; I assume that having this as a Version 2 isn't an issue for you. :)

Thank you for setting up, Tricia! And yep...saw that it had been done, but just love it so much that we thought another twist on the read would be fun. :)

I'll get to work on the assignments this evening!

Tricia --
Thanks!

A question: Can I claim the design for the CD cover now? (Clearly I'm having a very, very ambitious week.)

Cav --
Your attentiveness to this project is making me look bad! LOL. Just did the PL on the files and they sound great. Have two tiny notes that I'll email your way. But thank you for a really fabulous start to the book!

Oops - forgot to add the cover. That's not in my cataloging routine. Working on that now...

The run time is different on the PDF than in the project. (It adds up the seconds differently, I think. It's safer to wait until the project is cataloged to get the final run time.) Do you want to change that?
