Don't judge, but I had a mad crush on Lord Byron as an angsty teen.

cezka wrote: August 16th, 2020, 6:22 am Hello! I'm very new to Librivox, and this is my first poetry submission! :D

Is it alright if the poem is an excerpt from a novel? I was going through The Idiot and found this version of Pushkin's 'The Poor Knight' that I liked a lot, hehe.

The Poor Knight by Alexander Pushkin (1799-1837) as adapted in The Idiot by Fyodor Dostoyevsky

Welcome to Librivox and congrats on your first poem recording! Thank you for contributing to the Poetry Collection! Poetry excerpts from novels are totally fine! All great with your file and it has been entered to the Magic Window.
ArtemisBee wrote: August 16th, 2020, 3:04 pm Good evening!

I tried my hand at some poetry.
I'm glad you did! You recited your selected poems beautifully!
I have a PL note for the first one, it lacks the outro of "End of poem. This recording is in the public domain". Hopefully you can add that and send the file in again.

A heads up on the volume which is a bit high in your three files. I don't think it's necessary to fix that here, but just something to monitor in future recordings, because with the higher volume, the background noise is also more prominent. They are already marked PL OK (except the one missing the outro), but if you choose to, you may edit (volume and noise reduction) and upload again.

Please note that the text source you provided is not in the public domain (Source: Father: An Anthology of Verse (EP Dutton & Company, 1931) so I have used gutenberg.org as text source: https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/5720 and thankfully the text is the same. If possible, please find your chosen poems in gutenberg.org or other public domain sources (1924 and earlier).

It's advisable to leave about 0.5 - 1 second of silence at the beginning of the recording, no more. It's not crucial so you don't need to re-upload just for this, but something to incorporate in your future recordings. Thank you so much!

I don't think I've read any of her work before, a bit odd and unsettling.

Thank you, Fritz! PL OK and MW is updated. I don't know about odd, but it sounded very lyrical as you read it.

Welcome to Librivox Tajbihatoon!

Yes, you can use the uploader. You'll find the instructions in the first post, along with what password to use for the uploader. Then post here the link that the uploader gives you, and I'll be able to listen :D Wordsworth's Rainbow is a nice choice!

I had a chance to listen to the file in your drive, so perhaps you can make some changes before uploading in the uploader. You have a lovely voice and I enjoyed your exotic accent! :9:

Each project has all the information in the first post, like intro/outro, file-name, etc. Always check that information.

For the Poetry Collection, please use the short disclaimer, as
"The Rainbow by William Wordsworth. Read for Librivox.org by Tajbihatoon Noor". Then the poem, and end with "End of poem. This recording is in the public domain" + 5 seconds of silence.
Use spc207_rainbow_t_128kb for the filename (without [])
And you can apply some Noise Reduction on your recording. Here's a guide: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Noisecleaning_With_Pics#Clean_up_the_Noise:_Audacity_versions_from_2.1.0

For your future recordings, I know it's difficult to find a quiet space to record, but try to make it as quiet as possible (closed doors/windows, away from running appliances if possible, like fans, etc)

Will you be able to make these changes, or would you need further instructions for editing? Let me know, if you have any difficulty and I'll try to help. There's also a lot of information in the Librivox wiki, and lots of helpful videos! Link to the wiki at the top of the forum.

Hello!
Thanks for your feedback. I am sorry to inform that I have already uploaded in the uploader, with the file name and with []. Can I upload another time? And will I have to record the poem again? Well, recording again, won’tbe a problem, cause I love recording and sometimes, my house becomes completely silent 😅. Please let me know! :)

Thank you again!
