I'm sure my Spanish accent is amusing at best but I had fun with it and that's all that matters right?
wohooo, wonderful, Jenn ! Yes so far you are the only one who did a Spanish accent and when I heard your first sentence I thought it great but feared "can she keep that up all throughout ?" But you can ! Super done, thank you so much.

Poor Catalina...she has a dragon of a mother who did much wrong by her :(

I have two small bits to add:

Act 1:

> at 5:13: (p. 163) missed line: "Yes, mamma."

Act 2:

> at about 11:07: (p. 213) missed line: "Did you call ?"

the rest is perfect !

Thank you, Sonia! Let’s hope I can replicate the accent and keep it up for Act 3 otherwise she will suddenly sound American
I hope to have the missing lines and Act 3 done next week sometime :)

And I would like to apologise to her daughter...
 phew yes, you have a lot to apologize for here. Wow, she is a dragon and so mean to everybody (except the silly Conde for some reason...bad taste). I found the ending a bit too abrupt and unconvincing, that she would so quickly turn into a loving wife...she probably has a plan

Excellently acted out, Availle, you play the snappy evil mother wonderfully. And it was such a huge role, so kudos for doing all 3 acts flawlessly. Everything PL ok.

That's a big leap forward now in this play.

excellent, thank you, Jenn ! And you were able to keep the accent and the rolled r up to the end  Such a long Act 3, I bet you were happy when you reached the final page

Acts 1 & 2 are now PL ok.

One bit missing in Act 3 though, so you are not totally done yet ;)

> at about 3:20: (p. 225) missed line: "Settled ?"

thanks for this excellent performance !

Whew! Well, for a five-minute appearance, I worked hard on this one. I felt that I had to at least attempt a Spanish accent, with a line like "I was born in Madrid," but at times, it came out sounding a bit Soviet, I think. :? Anyway, here she is.

Also, I thought from the first scene that she was actually sensible. But then to see her go all week-kneed over an arrogant fop!

As one of the fops in this play, I resent that!

Thanks, Todd

 I think your Spanish accent is actually quite convincing. You don't sound like a Soviet to me (at least not the cliché soviet from the movies). So cool that many of you attempt to do an accent, it actually didn't occur to me to do it. I have a tendency to fake an accent if I play a foreigner...so let's say a Spaniard in an English play, but not one in a Spanish play where I would consider them native. But it's a cool touch  and wonderfully acted out. Yes....the drooling over the arrogant fop is a bit deplorable, but a girl can hope, right ?

Thanks, Devorah, all PL ok

Three acts of Augusto, presented for your pleasure. What a charmer...

Act 1: https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/madamepepita_augusto_1_128kb.mp3 (3:52)
Act 2: https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/madamepepita_augusto_2_128kb.mp3 (3:10)
Act 3: https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/madamepepita_augusto_3_128kb.mp3 (4:48)

I had a bit of an issue with the volume on Act 3 - Checker says it's just below the acceptable range at 85.5dB, but for some reason I'm not able to amplify it any further through Audacity. Not sure if there's an issue with my settings or if I'm just not quite as adept with the technology as I'd like to be...same thing happened with some of my files for another project this week (The Betrothal). It's entirely possible that I'm just missing something. Let me know if you have any thoughts - always happy to edit or re-record if need be.
