Reuben act 3

This man is an appalling old windbag but I really enjoyed this role. What does that say about me

oooh this guy is such a sleeze in this act despicable, indeed. But you convey the role very well I must say, shows your good theatrical talent And the villains are often most memorable, so it's a great role after allalanmapstone wrote: ↑August 11th, 2020, 4:07 amReuben act 3

only two small things to correct:
> at 2:12: (p. 142) missed line: "then observe"
> at 2:19: (p. 142) "a benevolent fairy" - the picture of Reuben as a fairy is quite comical, and I don't think the words benevolent and fury fit well together
thanks
Sonia
I will be on vacation from Wednesday 27 March till Sunday 14 April

Here is Ripley corrected...Kitty wrote: ↑July 13th, 2020, 5:46 amloved the scowling and accent you put on here, Chris. Brilliant performance, thanks so much.SonOfTheExiles wrote: ↑July 12th, 2020, 3:07 pmHere's Ripley the fisherman, Todd, so better take that goat-skin of Eaux-de-vie off Queen Dolly and issue the ration of black coffee so the PLing can begin.

I have a small note though (may be trivial...but since you called me Dolly , I figured I could annoy you a bit in return )
> at 4:49 (p. 113) "I found him in the village asking for thee" – you say "town", for me a town is bigger than this village he probably lives in. (may be optional though)

Since I don’t want to risk another script correction by annoying Kitty with the Dolly thing, I’ll just confine myself to the etymology of Librivox terminology.
Contrary to a popular misconception, PL stands for “Proof Listener”, not “Princess Leia”. Though Librivox being an audio-only medium, we’ve never been able to determine one way or the other whether Kitty does in fact do all her PL-ing in the Princess’s white robes. Or possibly, that gold bikini.
Cheers,
Chris

And certainly, everyone can tell that Leia is wearing old style noise-isolating PL headphones in the first movies, which only became less visible earbuds when modern technology caught up later in the other films.
Thanks, Todd

I don't see myself as Leia at all.... and I will probably not be around anymore when the dramatic reading is PD.
the hair-style definitely left something to be desiredToddHW wrote:And certainly, everyone can tell that Leia is wearing old style noise-isolating PL headphones in the first movies
Apart from Tomas' voice credit, Act 1 is ready to edit !

awwww there is romantic love dripping from your every word here Tomas, especially in the opening scene Geoffrey sounds completely smitten with Dorothy. Very well done. Thank youWiltedScribe wrote: ↑September 9th, 2020, 5:46 pmFinally, here is Geoffrey, our merchant sailor:

However, two sentences are missing, so you are not yet off the hook:
Act 2:
> at about 9:14: (p. 139) you forgot to record the final sentence: "Dorothy, one word. Hear what I have to say."
Act 3:
> at about 0:01: (p. 144) here you forgot the very first sentence : "Master Druce !"
thanks, now we are really close to wrapping this up, you were the final role we were waiting for.
Todd: Act 1 is ready to get finalized as we have Tomas' voice credit now in Act 2
