Section 12.

Earlier today I posted a question to you (which you may have seen) but have now deleted. Since only 7 1/2 minutes were left in Chapter 8, I made an executive decision to add them to Section 12, deleting Sec. 13. Anyone who has the patience to listen to 27 minutes of my reading of "Life on the Mississippi" can handle 35.

Here's the new Section 13. No laughs or even smiles in this one. :(

Section 14. I wonder how much (if any) of the feud he writes about is based on reality. Whether some truth or pure fiction, I'm getting a whole new sense of this writer's depth.

Section 14 is PL OK!

I have a feeling that the feud may be real, but embellished a bit, which is in character with Mark Twain. Not that there is anything wrong with embellishing, it makes it more interesting and fun!

Yeah, reality gets creatively morphed into something even more interesting: fiction, and MT was a master at it. Here's Section 15.

I stepped on the gas as soon as the light turned green. :)

Added two "footnotes" to Section 13: At 4:31 - 4:45 and at 8:21 - 8:34.

The rest are all in Section 14 ("Huck..."), which I'll tackle after I hear whether Sec. 13 is OK.

Used the first two of the three notes re Huck in Section 14 at 0.20 - 0.26 and at 3:35 - 3:55.

The last three notes are in Connecticut Yankee, which I'm editing now. Not sure they matter that much, but we'll see. :hmm:

Oops! I've already uploaded and you've listened to Conn. Yankee. Must be the summer heat frying my brain. I'll postpone considering those three footnotes for a little while. Still a ways to go in this book.

Ann, while starting to edit the next section I noticed a clear discrepancy in volume between left and right thru both headphones and speakers, the left being louder than the right. I checked some of the previously uploaded sections and hear the same thing, though I haven't made any changes to Audacity, and the settings are in Mono. Would you please give another listen to anything in the current book and let me know if L & R are equal in volume? I'm hoping it's only a problem with the audio at my end. :hmm:

Thanks!

I didn't hear any discrepancy between the left and right earbuds while listening to your sections. I took a sampling of different sections, and I still don't hear anything. It was good to check to make sure they are Mono, because that is usually what the problem is. Section 16 is also PL OK!
