And with that, Book 1 is ready for PL!

I'm so thrilled to finally be getting back to this book! :9:

EDIT: Leni, let me know what you think of the way I handled the footnotes, in particular. To me, it felt the least intrusive this way, but I'm open to suggestions.

Here is my part for Book 2. I hope I did this one right, and it's short on my end.

I do now have all of them recorded and edited.

But, I thought I should give them another pass so you don't have to write me a bunch of PL notes.

I edited these last night in a motel room where we stayed because our power was out for the second day in the wake of the big wind storm that roared up the east coast. Could not connect my lap top to the internet there. Very frustrating. Normally I would work on these Friday, but we snagged a parking pass for one of our little beaches on our minuscule coastline, so it's family day! We're all ready for it.

I liked it! I am used to reading books with tons of footnotes, and I noticed you put them in as I would have read them, particularly in the part where the notes explain the historical figures. :D

I have a few minor corrections for 3 and 5 that I won't be able to do until tonight, and then I'll have them in for you.

Thanks, Larry. I just finished editing Book 4 together. It comes to 1 hour exactly, which is less than I was expecting. So, I don't really have to split it, although I could. Shorter sections are often easier, both for downloading and for listening. Still, I don't know. I think I will wait to see how long Book 3 comes out to, and then decide whether to split or not to split. I'm estimating that Book 3 will come out to around 69 minutes, so really we could afford to leave them all intact. :hmm:

Thoughts? Opinions? Advice? Really, I'd appreciate input from anyone who has any.

Here are Books 3 and 5:

Hope I got all the edits okay.

On splitting the books.
I guess my first inclination would to be to keep it together.
I have seen these long sections in other projects (I have one of those to PL just now)
On the other hand, you are quite right that it is more convenient to the listener to have shorter sections.
If any of the other Books need to be divided, then maybe it would make more sense to divide this one as well.

Ambivalent, aren't I? 8-)

Small correction needed for Book 3.

Page 95, text reads "Unless the One held together what it wove into one whole." I hear "Unless the One held together what is wove into one whole." (For my own reference: This is at 1:01:57 of the edited file.)

You can submit it in a separate file, please.

And a correction as well for Book 5.

Page 149, text reads "What means shall we have to join ourselves to the Lord of all?" I hear "What means all we have...." (And note to self: This is at 15:24.)

Separate file, please.

Oh, my, so sorry for the misses . . . .

Here they are, and I hope it isn't too hard to match them. I tried my best.

I decided to split Books 3 and 4 after all. All remaining sections are uploading now. Leni, I realize this is a lot all at once. No pressure to do them all immediately, of course.

Here is the cast list:

Boethius, the Narrator: <a href="https://librivox.org/reader/8425">Larry Wilson</a><br>Philosophy: <a href="https://librivox.org/reader/11084">Devorah Allen</a><br>Headings and Footnotes: <a href="https://librivox.org/reader/13278">KevinS</a><br>
