Hi Craig, You've been busy recording! :D I thought this title sounded familiar, and upon checking, found that you had recorded a 5-minute synopsis of Swenson's long paper for volume 39 of the SNF in 2015. Now we have Swenson's article complete, but also two selections with the same title. Could we perhaps vary this title a little? Perhaps call it "Kierkegaard's Anti-Intellectualism." ...or, taking a cue from Swenson, page 568, where Swenson writes "Kierkegaard calls himself a subjective thinker. His meaning may perhaps be conveyed, in one of its aspects, by calling him also an artist-thinker,"--one might derive either of these titles: "Kierkegaard as Subjective Thinker" or "Kierkegaard as Poet-Thinker." Or, of course, we can also just catalog this as "The Anti-Intellectualism of Kierkegaard #2. Let me know what you'd like to do.

I'll try to PL this tomorrow.

I'll call it Kierkegaard as Subjective Thinker

Do you want me to make the audio title match the written title?

Craig

Thanks Sue :D

Michaelb71 has postponed his selection from snf076 to snf077, leaving a slot open in 076. I have moved the first contribution to snf077, which was KevinS' "Manifesto of the Humanitarian League" over to snf076 to fill up that volume, and I have let Kevin know by PM what was happening. That means that SNF076 can now be cataloged. It also means that Kevin can still record another contribution for 077 if he wants to, as he now only has one contribution to this volume, and each participant is allowed two recordings per volume.

Craig
Hi Craig, Thanks for this contribution to your on-going collection of readings by and about Kierkegaard! :)

For such a long and technical paper, you read this very well. There were very few errors, but I will list what I found here:

5:08, (page 568) "by calling him also an artist-thinker" You said "artistic thinker"

33:40. [footnote 3, page 577), "Every transition from the detail of an empirical induction..." You said "empirical introduction"

48:48 (page 582, first paragraph) "..."thus positing the choice between belief and belief" You said "belief and unbelief"

50:26 (page 582, 2nd paragraph) "In the inner life of the self, the contrast between the universal and the particular..." You said "contrast between the individual and the particular"

1:00:04.0 (page 585) "...and futile to deny that it may and does meet..." You said "and does not meet"

Seeing lots of these beetles on the soybeans hereabouts; I thought it would be interesting to know more about this destructive pest.
