Here's my sample for Chapter 13 http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/200710/she_13sample_haggard.mp3

It's a long way from the best take I did, becuase software problems meant that I ended up recording it about fifteen times. Fifteen takes equals my voice sounding like it belongs to a crow, so sorry about that  But at least you can tell if my set up works...

Thats ok it's to do with the URL tags that you put in (I've edited them out) if you're just going to post the direct URL then you just need to past the link here, no need for the URL tags. :)

Thank you. Like I said, have never used a forum before so I really don't know how all this stuff works. Did it turn out ok?

Yup I've got the file and listened, sorry I took a while to reply things got a little crazy. I have to say I really like your accent, it sounds like it might be a mix of several..? :) The recording itself is rather quiet, but don't worry I shall send you a PM shortly detailing the best way to help increase this! :) Also you might want to think about slowing down you reading just a little.

One more for you. Here is Chapter 8

That was fun!

I had to make a couple of repairs. I'm fairly sure I got away with the first one, but please let me know whether I should have another go at repairing the second, at 10:03-10:09.

I also think my recording setup is getting better, but I'd be glad to hear any suggestions anyone might like to make.

Finally, may I please claim chapter 9. I don't think I'll be able to be quite so quick for this one ... :-)

Hi Kikisaulite thanks for the section :)

Librivox now has its own uploader, so there's no need to use things like yousendit, here's the details for our uploader. :) (Don't worry about this section I'll upload it shortly)

I've finished recording chapter 13, but I don't really know how to do the editing. It doesn't sound like there's very much background noise (on my computer anyway, I don't know how it will sound to anybody else). Should I just go ahead and upload it as is?

Yup, the most important part of editing is really just to make sure you get rid of any long pauses, or repeats. :) From your sample there didn't seem to be much background noise anyway.
