One small note:

At 21:51 the line reads "The man's a fake." Somehow the the final "k" sound in "fake" got cut off (maybe during editing?). This could be confusing because it sounds like the man is a "fay" . This could easily be repaired by adding a "k" sound to the end of the word (it doesn't even have to be the original reader -- my experience when editing has shown is that everyone's "k" sound sounds pretty much the same :D ).

Otherwise, Section 7 is PL OK!

Nicely done!
:hmm: I'd wondered about that. No, it didn't get cut off in editing. It was just that quiet in the original recording, I think. I'll see if I can fiddle with it.

I've been putting off working on section 14 because it will be easily the longest section of the project. I remember when combining chapters that there was no good way to divvy up the last few without having either a very long or a very short section, or both. Ah well. I'm sitting down to it right now. Hopefully will be able to finish it up in one go.

I fixed this a couple of days ago, but ummm... forgot to upload it!

Can't figure out why changing something on my copy at home doesn't change it in the uploader.

Ready for spot PL.

I did it! Section 14 is uploading now. I think some of the length of it is due to the slow ponderous way that Mudface speaks, but I love it though! In fact, I even slowed him down a bit here and there. I hope you like it.

Incidentally, I can't help seeing some striking similarities between Mudface the turtle in Lake Junganyika surrounded by mangrove swamps, where no one has ever been, and Morla the Aged One (also a giant turtle), who lives in the Swamps of Sadness where no one can ever go and live (from the Neverending Story, if you don't know it). Of course, Morla is far more hopeless and apathetic, but the imagery is striking.

Wow! This is fantastic editing! Now I'm curious -- where did you get the "k" sound, pray tell? :D

Section 7 is PL OK! (I marked it as such in the MW).

This is interesting. I haven't read The Neverending Story yet, but I have it here on my bookshelf, both in German original and in English translation -- I've been meaning to read it for ages.

Oh, you must! It is one of the most beautiful stories I know!

I got the 'k' sound from Algy's Piffilosaurus file. It might have sounded fine with a 'k' from anyone, you're right. But I decided to try to find one from one of his roles first.

I read Momo ages ago, when I was first learning German. But I'll have to read The Neverending Story soon. :D

Impressive dedication to excellence!

Speaking of which, Section 9 is PL OK!

Probably not worth mentioning, but the pushmi-pullyu pronounces the word "leeward" as "lew-ward" instead of "lee-ward" twice at 21:45 and again at 22:12.

Otherwise, Section 10 is PL OK.

Yes, I know. But under standard PL, that's alright, so I let it go. Thanks!

I plan to finish up the last two this week. Does Jasmin still want to try for that seagull line, or should I use the one that was given us by Madeleine?

I figured, but I didn't want you to think I wasn't doing my job and listening attentively... (I marked this as PL OK in the MW).

Madeleine's sounds authentic Aussie, but Jasmin sounds a bit more like Zoe:

Jasmin did listen to both of Zoe's recordings and practiced, so I think it sounds pretty good. But there was a little clipping -- she got a bit too excited -- but I think I edited it down.

And section 6 is now uploading!

Tell Jasmin she did a fantastic job! :9: Nailed it! I used her lines to stand in for Zoe. It matches very well!

I'll stand by for any comments you may have, but that's about it. MW sections are all assigned and the cast list is ready.

Magnificent! That is a monumental task, Devorah!

Truthfully, I don't often download completed projects just to listen to myself, but I'll have to listen to some of this just to see how it all fits together - so much going one in some of these chapters.
