I have a quick question about Part 1, Chapter 6, bottom of page 73.

There's the line "Three. Two from Denver and one from California." Her husband gave them to her. "Did you sleep, Maidy?

From my understanding, Neil says "Three. Two from Denver and one from California." and her husband says "Did you sleep, Maidy?".

Is that correct?

Jessica, this sounds amazing!! I love your character voices! I only have two PL notes... First, there should be 5 full seconds of silence at the end of the file. (Currently, there is 3.5 seconds of silence at the end of the file.) Second, the file name is incorrect - it should be "lostlady_16_cather_128kb.mp3." Please edit and re-upload. Thanks so much.

I just noticed that "128kb" did not get automatically included in the file name for the links I just sent- not sure if my settings are off but I can resend with 128kb in the file name if needed. Sorry about that, I thought it would be included automatically.

Thank you, Jessica! Yes, you will need to add "128kb" manually. Let me PL Section 17 first just in case there are any other changes needed and then you can do one final upload of both files with the correct file names.

Actually, let me know if any of the ones without 128kb are PL OK. I can change the file names myself without having to bog down the system with another upload.

Thanks, Linette. Are all MCs willing to change file names at cataloging? I know some are but I didn't want to assume.

That’s a good question and one I can’t answer. For me I think it’s silly to use up server space to upload a file that only needs a name change. <shrug>

Section 16 has 11 seconds of silence at the end now. If you look at the Audacity window, there is a dropdown menu at the lower right corner of the screen (down below the waveform). Choose "Length and End of Selection" and you will be able to highlight the silence and see how long it is. I took a screenshot of my screen so you can see what I am talking about (look for the black arrow): https://ibb.co/pXgXsDJ

Section 17 sounds wonderful. There are a microphone bumps at 01:30, 06:02, and 07:38 that need to be removed, and there are only 3 seconds of silence at the end of the file (there needs to be 5). Once those two things are fixed, the file will be PL OK. Thanks!

Hi! I am sorry to say that I'll have to give up section 7. I am in the midst of editing section 6, and I'll try to get it done as soon as I can. I have a big exam coming up, and it's turning out to be a lot more complicated than I thought. Sorry again for the inconvenience!
