Greetings, I just uploaded section 39:https://librivox.org/uploads/alg1001/anectodesofbigcats_39_wilson_128kb.mp3 Length: 03:09

Section 40:https://librivox.org/uploads/alg1001/anectodesofbigcats_40_wilson_128kb.mp3
Length: 03:16
In the audio, there's some weird noise from around 00:30 to 00:50 that occur only when I speak and when I try to clear it, the whole sound track is de-amplified; the biggest problem is that I am using the mic of the computer that is a good distance from my mouth, I have no idea why that happened  Wish that doesn't compromise the quality of the recording too much.

Thank you,
Guomin

Thank you.
I've put this in the MW Ready for PL.

In response to your comments on the audio.
What you hear is simply because of the poor quality of built in computer microphones - woefully inadequate for this type of recording. Then, they pick up all of the internal noise of the computer, which is part of what you are hearing. All of this, and the distance from your mouth also captures a lot of reverb. I really suggest that you invest in a good USB mic. There are some good choices that won't break your budge. I'm using a modestly priced one that I got six years ago, and it has served me well.

About the only thing you can to is to use some modest noise reduction. (Don't use too much, or the audio degrades, as I'm sure you've heard). I got a sample from the closing silence, and used the Audacity noise reduction set to 12 and it cleaned some of it up, but not all.

We have a low threshold for this on LibriVox, so this is still passable. But, try that and see what you get.
Meanwhile, Rita will be by to PL your reading.

It's a learning curve, so stick with it.
Glad you're here. :D

Great. Here you go.

Time - 13:39

PL notes on Sec 01:

Your reading is fine, but I have just a couple of things:

At :25, there is a 3 second silence which is too long
At 2:13 preserve should be persevere
4:50 whether should be when
10:19 "not" is missing
Please shave 1 second from the end (we're not to exceed 5)

Nancy, I've given you a PL OK for a well read section 2, although did want to mention (and you may choose to change it optionally) that the pronunciation for Thames is "tems" at 4:01.
