Hello
I am not new to Librivox exactly as I joined a few years ago. However, after joining I became ill and was unable to volunteer. I would like to re-introduce myself and I ask that I can still volunteer to help. I had cataracts a few years ago and was virtually blind because of them. After I had the operation to remove the cataracts, I wanted to help those who weren't so lucky as I was and who had eye issues that were not as easily fixed. I am new to recording. I did buy a Blue Snowball microphone and I hope that it will work okay with your system. For now I will poke around the forum and try to find out how to start! Wish me Luck! Thanks very much.

Welcome, from a bit further east.

Here's a good place to start, for recording: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Newbie_Guide_to_Recording

If you want to do some proof-listening, here's that resource: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Guide_for_Proof-listeners

Hi Tricia
Thanks for the information. I spent quite some time on that resource and I think I learned a bit anyway. I did manage to upload a test recording. Not sure how to adjust the sound to match the requirements so was waiting to hear back. I did try to download and use the sound level app that was recommended but either I am doing something totally wrong (not beyond the realm of possibility :D ) or the app won't work on my computer for some reason. With any luck I will navigate my way around all this tech stuff and learn enough to actually do something useful! Will try the listening suggestion too. Thanks again from out west to back east!!
