When will I ever learn?

Before you snap off a feisty answer to that in your Flora persona, note that I am downloading to PL now. At least briefly I hold your future in my hands - er, mouse....

Thanks, Todd

I have a question: At the end of Act 4, should I say anything besides "End of Act 4"?

At end of Act 4, also add: "End of The Wonder! A Woman Keeps a Secret, by Susannah Centlivre. Edited by Augustin Daly"

Here is Act IV: https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/wondersecret_directions_4_128kb.mp3

Time: 17:16

Thanks for the answer to my question. I thought there would probably be something like that but couldn't find it in the instructions, and since I am a rookie I figured I would ask. But this way I got it exactly right (I hope )

thank you Peter, now it's all PL ok. But please remember for future recordings, always keep the exact same filename when you reupload (here you added an 'r' for some reason). The new file will then replace the old in the MW, which is what we want so it's always up to date.

No need to reupload this time, I changed the link in the MW now. :)

Here is Act III: https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/wondersecret_directions_3_128kb.mp3
getting better and better here I see  nearly a perfect run-through, only found two small notes to edit. Considering it was such a long file, this is really very good:

> at 1:15: (p. 33) "aside" - here you can actually cut "Lissardo" as it's the second sentence that is the aside (I know...confusing  )

> at 7:15: (p. 40) "Felix, his eyes on door" - we need the name here again, at the beginning of speech

thanks...will PL the final act soon, but need a small break

 yes always best to ask beforehand, good choice, Wayne.

And the final act is nearly flawless too. You assessed most of the asides correctly, but I found two that needs the name of the reader (twice Felix in fact  ) :

> at 2:26: (p. 47) "Felix aside" - since Frederic and the colonel are mentioned right before, the name needs to be included to be precise

> at 7:28: (p. 51) "Felix aside" - also needs the name included, beginning of speech

the rest is perfect. Great job !!! Thank you so much for providing us with the narrations so fast. That way Todd can start assembling it all as soon as voices come in.

LIssardo awaits impatiently in the MW. Alas, I know not what happened to his ring or fair Flora as the tale within the play doth endeth! Oh, woe!

yes somehow the servants get cut short by the end of the play. They should get their stand-alone sequel later on  But excellently portrayed, especially when he tries to placate the girls fighting for him  Great job, and Acts 1, 3 and 4 are straight PL ok.

I have a small note for Act 2 though:

> at 0:53: (p. 24) "why, what dost weep for now my dear, ha ?" - you say "weep for you", which sounds odd

Thanks

well it actually was "what dost thou weep for now" (you had that correct before) but it's ok like that, as it doesn't change the meaning as much as the previous version. PL ok now :)

thanks

Col. Briton Act 1 ready (I think--he's tricky. That, and my Scottish accent--he IS supposed to have one, right? --stinks...)

I am a big fan of Scottish accents :9: so I had to listen to this straight away. He doesn't need to have a strong accent, as Gibby, who has one, has the accent written in the script, but Britton hasn't. But I like it, you roll the 'r' quite well which gives it some local colour already. And he is so endearingly good-humoured, especially in the beginning. A great start and I look forward to hearing more from him. Thank you, this is all PL ok.

Kitty wrote: July 22nd, 2020, 12:48 pm and just finished the feisty Flora as well. Todd, you're in for verbal abuse again in Act 2. (you should have given me that ring and all would have been easier) I had lots of fun.
