I've updated the MW, but please consult with the BC/PL in the future before changing an already submitted recording. If the PL already started listening to your reading, they would need to spot-check the parts you've changed.

I didn't know that Poe was translated into Esperanto already. I love the Oval Portrait.

The text is perfectly flawless, I only have a small technical note here, which is quickly corrected:

usually we don't do that. The reader mentions the translator in his intro, so we're giving him credit. I think that is usually enough. Also we can put it in our preface text, where all the submissions get listed.

I have added him now. I also noticed that he is not yet PD for me to read, he died in 1971, which is not 70 years dead yet. Michael, you live in the US, right ? For you it should be ok, so can I ask you to PL this section for me please ? Sorry for the trouble

Maricela, I don't know where you are living, but you have to be careful, if you live in Europe, the author has to be dead for 70 years to be ok for us to record. In the US you don't have these restrictions with the death date, but each country has different laws. I think Mexico is the strictest, the author has to be dead for 100 years before he is in the public domain. So please check your restrictions before you download and record anything. Just to be on the safe side.

I copied the scores above and used the "Noteflight" software to create wav files.
I have progressively accelerated tempo and increased key, to produce a disorderly, cacophonous effect. The last part, suddenly slowed down to the same tempo as at the beginning, is supposed to remind the listener that this is still a religious hymn - some feeling of devotion is supposed to be experienced, to some extent. From beginning to end, the key is increased by one octave, exactly 12 semitones: this was intentional and serves a purpose, as the piece ends in the same key as it had begun.

The Latin text was chanted with ecclesiastical pronunciation; my French was brayed alright, and I did nothing to accentuate that. Some additional braying introduce and end the piece (I imitated the braying myself, and applied special effects in Audacity).
