Hello,
I am translating into English the Vth Canto of Dante's Inferno, for pleasure.
The older translations are simply too dated to relate to, in my opinion, whereas the newer ones are not in the public domain.
Am I permitted to upload my translation, which will not be published?
If not, are there any workarounds?
Thank you!
Falcon

LibriVox does not accept such material, but you are certainly free to post your original work on archive.org. If you need help with how this is done, let me know. I'll be happy to help offline.Falcon wrote: ↑July 18th, 2020, 5:02 am Hello,

There was a plan for a group to translate things and we would read them very early on - but the legalities of using them were just far too complex so we stick to "previously published and in the public domain".
It's not particularly difficult for you to upload your translation and your rendition of it to Archive - you do need to register and that means you can change things that don't look right the first time.
