Hi cadastra,

am I able to claim the last remaining section (6)? I am a newbie and have submitted my one minute test, now just waiting for the ok. I'll go by Noel Hanna.

Thanks.

Thanks

Hi there, thanks so much for your interest in this project. The last section was claimed in the post above yours, unfortunately, but I will certainly contact you if I orphan a section.

Hi cadastra and Mayah92, I have already made a start on section 6. Should I still continue?

Hi Noel! Yes, please do continue. I don’t know how that section was assigned to two people, but you claimed it first. I will let Mayah92 know. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Lovely reading, Andrew! Section 3 PL notes:

11:20 Repeat ("if the trick be well done" x2)
34:06 Repeat ("amazes me" x2)
35:06 Repeat ("a" x2 in "a little fever")

Also, the file is 86.1 dB, which is too quiet (87-91 dB is acceptable, and we aim for 89 dB). To adjust the volume in Audacity, select the whole recording. Click Effect > Amplify. In the Amplification box, enter the number +2.9 dB. Verify that the file is around 89 dB using Checker, then re-upload using the same filename. Post in this thread when the file is ready for spot PL. Thanks so much!

Hi Richard,
Wow, you sound like a professional narrator! I only have a few PL notes for Section 4... First, here is a repeat at 39:55 ("extremely gay and... and wonderfully neat"). Also, the volume of the file is too loud at 92.3 dB (87-91 dB is acceptable, and we aim for 89 dB). To adjust the volume in Audacity, select the whole recording. Click Effect > Amplify. In the Amplification box, enter the number -3.3 dB. Verify that the file is around 89 dB using Checker, then re-upload using the same filename. Post in this thread when the file is ready for spot PL. Thanks so much!

Hi

Section 4. Thanks for the heads up. A little while since I submitted a reading and had stupidly forgotten to use the checker. The repetition was an attempt to suggest hesitation on the part of the narrator but I was taking a bit of a liberty with the text so I've taken it out.
