excellent job, Larry  Quite a fierce sergeant, wouldn't want to meet him if I was on the wrong side of the law. But totally PL ok.

Thank you :)

 loved the scowling and accent you put on here, Chris. Brilliant performance, thanks so much.

I have a small note though (may be trivial...but since you called me Dolly  , I figured I could annoy you a bit in return  )

But “Dollface” would make it sound like Humphrey Bogart speaking to Lauren Bacall...

Todd, have you ever tried addressing the Queen as “Shweedheart”...? :hmm:

In Australia, a country “town” is basically everything from a regional city to a half-dozen houses clustered around the pub.

But no worries, I’ll fix it after work today ( before dawn and raining in Sydney at the moment).

Cheers,
Chris

well done Alan, I love the accent you put on here. Reuben is not the most sophisticated in the army ranks I suppose  but looking forward to hearing more from him soon. This one is PL ok in any case.

Thank you

Reuben is an NCO. In those days only the officers would have come from the educated classes 😾 Thank you 👍

The purpose of the experienced NCO is to ensure that the young lef-tenant survives long enough to begin to get the only education that counts on the battlefield.

I was not commenting on their experience or ability as soldiers only on their mode of speaking and accent.

As I understand it, the commissions were purchased back in those days.

wonderful performance Andrew  meseems Jasper is a wee bit tipsy all through the act. A bit too much Schiedam perhaps ? Now I am curious how he will have evolved after a few years when he returns.

I only have one PL note to correct:

> at 3:39: (p. 117) "where my backbone had to bear the brunt of the flight" – you say "fight" which changes his meaning a bit

Thanks
