a wonderful interpretation of this beautiful poem, thank you so much Maricela. :9: You really managed to recite it full of emotion. Word perfect too. Only one small thing to correct:

> the volume is too low. We accept between 86 and 92 dB, yours is only 85.2. Could you please amplify with +4, then you are in the perfect average of 89 dB.

thanks

ok something has gone wrong...now the volume is much too loud (over 97 dB  ) How did you amplify ? If you had used my number (+4) it should not have been that loud.

Here is how you amplify in Audacity:

> open the old recording (the one that was not loud enough)
> highlight your recording
> go to Effect (in the upper Menu)
> go to Amplify
> input 4 in the first upper box (called: amplification dB) - do not change anything in the lower box !
> press ok

is that how you did ? If you are using the second recording, the one that was too loud, you can change the volume the same way, only put -7 in the upper box (and don't forget the MINUS sign !)

Please let me know if you have any problems.

Do you have the Checker program ? You can check yourself how high the volume is with it: http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Checker

Thanks

Sonia

Buen día

Aquí la nueva grabación de La ardilla, el dogo y el zorro de Andrés Bello.
https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/msw025_laardillaeldogoyelzorro_bello_dpk_128kb.mp3

Quedo pendiente

thank you Dharma, a very nice and clear reading  There are only a few small things to edit, no need to re-record it all, as it was nearly word perfect.

> the volume is too loud (over 94 dB) we accept between 86 and 92 dB. I would suggest decreasing with -4 so you get close to the perfect average of 89 dB. Please see my previous post to Maricela, where I explained in detail how it can be decreased in Audacity, if that is the program you use: viewtopic.php?p=1750646#p1750646

> from 0:01-0:23: for the short poems you can use the short introduction: "[Work title], by [author], read in [language] for LibriVox.org by [your name]". (you can say it in Spanish of course)

> at 0:24: could you please include the whole text as in the book, title and subtitles: "La ardilla, el dogo y el zorro. Asunto tomade de Florian. Fabula para el album de une hija." and then start with the story

> at 1:17: (p. 248) "terror de todo el campo comarcano" – you say "cammino"

> at 4:04: since we use the short intro, we need to put at the end: "this recording is in the public domain" (in Spanish if you wish)

thank you, great debut !

Hola Sonia!

yes, that's what I suspected ;)

Now it is perfect with 88.8 dB  and PL ok.
just one other thing about the file name: the "mp3" at the end (in red here) should not be part of the name, but the format of the file. It should be 128kb. But no need to change it now, I can do that in the folder. But careful for your future recordings :)

thank you

Gracias por tus edificantes comentarios y correcciones. Aquí va el archivo con los cambios sobre la misma grabación, ahora alcanzó los 4.22"

thank you, the corrections have all been well done

However there are a few small things to edit this time (nothing difficult though) :

> from 0:14-0:18: between intro and title, 4 seconds of silence is too long. 1 to maximum 2 is fully enough, otherwise it seems to long for a listener

> from 0:28-0:33: also here, between title and start of poem, 5 seconds of silence is too long. It's best not to exceed 2 seconds anywhere

> and the volume is still at 94.7 dB. Do you use Audacity or another program ? Did you try to decrease the volume like I told you in my previous post ? (well this is for Audacity)

1) open the final edited recording
2) highlight your recording
3) go to Effect (in the upper Menu)
4) go to Amplify
5) input -4 (do not forget the MINUS sign !) in the first upper box (called: amplification dB) - do not change anything in the lower box !
6) press ok

one more time please and then all will be well. Don't worry, the first sections are always the hardest, then soon you get into a routine. :)
