Thank You!
P.S.- I did ask someone to put my name in the catalog last week, but they haven't yet. Do you mind doing it, or should I wait one more week? (My name is inspri)
Please forgive me for the extra time - I ended up taking yesterday off from LibriVox, as the day was AMAZINGLY beautiful, and my husband and I spent it outdoors to enjoy it while it lasted. Which turned out to be a great thing, as this morning there is an ugly haze and the smell of distant wildfire in the air.
Your recording is terrific! I had never known this tale, so I enjoyed hearing it very much.
That was your first one? You're a natural - glad to have you here at LibriVox! The specs are all correct, your pacing is perfect, diction is clear, and volume is inside the LibriVox requirements. (It is a little on the lower end of the decibel range, so if you ever feel like it, you can increase the recording volume a small amount.)
I found no repeats or stumbles needing attention. The end silence is good. The front silence is a little bit too long - it is supposed to be between .5 and 1 second, but it is 1.5 seconds.
Could you reopen your recording, zoom in on the track so you can see the .5 second spacing bars, and then clip out .5 second from the front. When I do this on my tracks, I choose a part of the line that has a blip or tick in it, so whatever that little click in sound was, it gets erased - but don't cut out part of an actual word. (Let me know if you don't know yet how to clip out part of a recording.)
After you do this edit, re-export the file to mp3 again (you can simply overwrite your first mp3), then upload that new version the exact same way you uploaded the first time, and post here that link and the new length of time.
Thank you very much for this contribution!
