Homecraft Rugs: Their Historic Background, Romance of Stichery and Method of Making by Lydia Le Baron Walker (1869 - 1958).

This project is now complete and may be found in the catalog. https://librivox.org/homecraft-rugs-their-historic-background-romance-of-stitchery-and-method-of-making-by-lydia-le-baron-walker/

History and evolution of all types of rugmaking, both domestic and foreign. (Joanne Turner)
  • Text source (only read from this text!): https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=uc1.$b32171;view=1up;seq=11
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard, although constructive criticism is desired.

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Hi Joanne,
I can MC this for you.

I shorted the file titles for you. Do you have a DPL lined up? Will you be using the PL OK files from the abandoned project?

Here is how you access the MW. Remember the MW password if different than your general LibriVox password. As soloist you have the responsibility for maintaining the MW. Titles, file length and link, and toggling the workflow to Ready for PL or Ready for Spot check.

Please let me know if you have any difficulties.

Linny, I don't have a dedicated proof listener lined up and haven't been part of Librivox long enough to have anyone to ask or trade off with.

I'll post a request for a proof listener, standard, and ask for constructive criticism at the same time.

It looks as if you are off to a great start!

I edited your post to show you want cc. I added a ~ to the front of the title. This indicates you are looking for a proof listener. We will see if anyone picks you up. Once you get a little further with the recording we can post for a listener if one hasn’t come along.

It looks like you missed adding the link for the 3rd chapter. Also, if they are ready for proof listening please toggle the work flow to Ready for PL.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I can't seem to post a link to chapter 3 in the MW. Not sure why, but this is all still so new to me.

Finally figured it out. As one of my professors used to say, when all else fails, read the instructions! The first three chapters are ready for PF and have been marked so. My project for tonight: make a better index for my Librivox notebook.

Chapter 1 was recorded in your old environment. Would you like to change it?

Chapter 2 is PL ok with the exception of the opening silence which is a little long. Please trim to 0.5-1.0 seconds.

Being an amateur crocheter myself, I would be interested in PLing this, unless of course linny wants to continue PLing. :)
