Do you have Windows Media Player? It can convert your files.

I can't get this to work on my computer. My WMP doesn't have a "rip" button.KevinS wrote: ↑July 4th, 2020, 4:31 pm Do you have Windows Media Player? It can convert your files.

It's a little complicated, though who knows what happens with all the various upgrades and all that take place.TriciaG wrote: ↑July 4th, 2020, 4:44 pmI can't get this to work on my computer. I'll look for .wav file sometime soon and give this a try.

and thank you and if you could tell me how to reply to a specific post it would be nice.

I hope this is a simple question: Did Audacity rename the "effect" tool formerly known as "leveler"? My version 2.2.2 has lots of effects, but no "leveler" as discussed in our Audacity help section. (My volume wavered a bit (as I must've) and I'd like to "even" out the volume. Thanks.

If has apparently been moved under the Distortion effect submenu -

I've personally never been a fan of the leveler effect, so I don't use it myself. You might consider trying dynamic compression instead.

Hmmn...sounds a little ominous, distortion effect. I think I'll try your suggestion first. Thanks much.
Also called the corset effect.knotyouraveragejo wrote: ↑July 8th, 2020, 2:14 pm You might consider trying dynamic compression instead.

By the way, the amazing VLC can also re-encode audio file formats. A page that says how to convert .wav to .mp3 is at: https://www.vlchelp.com/convert-audio-format/
