The Green World by Hal clement (1922 - 2003).

This project is complete and in our catalog at https://librivox.org/the-green-world-by-hal-clement/
The planet was an enigma. Among the thousands of inhabitable planets that had been discovered and visited, Veridis alone seemed to defy the laws of planetary development and evolution. It was extremely young, barely 10 million years had passed since it was completely molten and yet now it was covered with life of all kinds; kinds that should have not had a chance to even begin to develop, much less reach their current stage. To investigate this anomaly among the stars, a team of experienced specialists was sent out to delve further into the mystery and if possible, solve it. Other than the obvious fields of planetology and geology, other specialties were included like paleontology and archaeology. The highly dangerous flora and fauna of the planet do not help at all since they wanted to kill all of them all the time. So, what is the cause? It lies deeper in the Green Planet than anyone thinks and is much more dangerous than they can ever imagine. And is getting pissed off. (philc )

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Hope you are doing well Larry. About this story, nope, even thought I've recorded over half of it, I've decided it has too many problems and will be moving it to On Hold and then later deleting it. On the other hand I hope you can PL for this little story viewtopic.php?f=12&t=79879&p=1715519#p1715519

Hello Larry. After a long hiatus and much thought, I am feeling better and have decided to record this story. Are you still up for DPL? I should have it up within a week or two. :D I hope you are more familiar than I am with paleontology, archeology, geology and many other ologies!

Hi, Phil!

Glad to hear you're feeling better. :D

I'm still here and still have this on my DPL list . . . . .

Not sure about the -ologies, I'm better with theology, philology, psychology, anthropology, and even pathology, bacteriology and biology. We'll see.

Anyway, I'll be away on vacation next week -- going a bit further north in New Hampshire in the White Mountains. Should be a great family time. But, I'll have my headphones with me and plan on some enjoyable evening listening.

Thank you Larry. It sounds like a great vacation. I just listened to A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson where he sort of hikes the Applacahian Trail and he described the beautifuyl White Moutains - great book.

Really nice, relaxing vacation -- birds, butterflies and bears, that latter sauntering past me withing a few feet. I proffered not salutation!
I'll get to these as soon as I can. But, Section 8 appears to be in stereo.
