Actually, anyone with Windows can snip the image off the webpage using the Snipping Tool.

Those of us outside the US can't access the page, though. :) That's why I suggested uploading it.

Try this truncated link (deletes everything after en), and let me know if it opens.

Nope.

Google Books often does this (restricts works which are PD worldwide), which is why we prefer Archive or other text sources over Google Books. :)

strange that it won't open for you...I was able to open it in Firefox, Safari AND Chrome!!
Try: https://www.google.com/books/edition/Europe_and_elsewhere/xhJEAAAAYAAJ?hl=en&gbpv=1&dq;="Europe+and+Elsewhere+"Mark+twain&printsec=frontcover

Also...I was unable to load ANYTHING into the covers file on the new Uploader!! I tried a JPEG, PDF, TIFF...
:-(
heyho,

i wasn't able to open your link, too.

the uploader accepts .mp3 or .zip, only - what i know.
so, if you could zip the jpeg, uploading and posting the link should be the best solution.

cheers,
OK I'm totally baffled!!
I zipped a JPEG, a PDF a TIFF...all ended with ".zip" but NONE would go through.
Any other route???

Sounds like you're having an issue with the uploader. Try logging out of the uploader, then back in. Or try closing and restarting your browser.

since the filename in the browser/dropbox is 1-E%20%26%20E%20cover.jpg, i'm fairly sur, there is some problem with unknown symbols or letters.
often, software translate that to some more geenral letters, and this confuses other software, in some cases, and so on.
is the name correct, which is shown in dropbox? 1-E & E cover.jpg
there are two spaces and a &

maybe the mistake was the &.
just my experience with special german letters:
some parts of the software won't accept letters like ß, äöü, etc.
we have a list of forbidden sings in the magic window, but since i made a cover i know, that the uploader doesn't accept cyrllic, too.
all in all, filebrowsers and everything regarding the internets need some reduced standard alphabet letters...
and in our filenames, we type underlines instead of spaces, too. that's a little bit oldschool, but works.

edit: ah yes, your dropbox link works!
now, we just need your project in the claimslist and a covermaker who reads here!
cheers

Hello everybody!

In the next few days, a book read in Portuguese, entitled Correio da Roça, will be cataloged. Based on the story in the book, which is a collection of letters exchanged between a woman who lives in the big city and a family of four women forced to move to the countryside, one of the readers has suggested two paintings that might be interesting ideas for the cover. It is just a suggestion of course, but here they are:

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Abigail_de_Andrade_-_Sem_t%C3%ADtulo,_1881.jpg

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:I_haved%C3%B8ren._Kunstnerens_hustru.jpg

Both are 19th century paintings, so they should be in the public domain. Thanks!
Leni

Question for Anne, probably:

I started a new cover page at Archive, since #36 was at 255 jpgs.

https://archive.org/details/LibrivoxCDCoverArt37

Any idea why the preview shows the PDF rather than a jpg? It's ugly this way.

(I did upload a "itemimage" jpg about 2.5 hours ago, to see if that would solve it. That file is still waiting to derive after 2.5 hours! Archive is sloooooowwww today!)

i honestly don't have experience with it, but i changed the profile pic for my collection on archive.
i had to delete the automatically generated thumbnail pic and it changed.
what i don't know anymore is: how i deleted the automatically generated thumbnail, as it is grayed out.
cheers

Fixing up the images is about bottom of Archives piorities - I notice that the images don't show on the archives searches quite often for some time after they show on the details page
