Wonderful reading. The only issue is that the file has 3 seconds of silence at the end instead of 5 seconds of silence. Please edit and re-upload. Post in this thread with the new file length when you are ready for me to spot PL. Thanks!

PL OK: 3, 4, 38, 39
Hi I have uploaded the new recording of section 17 and it is 10:59. I'm sorry for any inconveniences. Here's the link

Thank you,

hi shreya,

maybe you didn't see it:
did you record the whole section anew?
or did you add some seconds of silence, only?

please, we don't want to produce additional work for our dpl!
hi I just added the extra seconds if that's okay. I'm sorry I should've mentioned that before.

With great happiness :) I present to you section 15
recorded by me, Hopeforce1.
It is 8:14 long
Section 14 PL notes:
-5 seconds of silence at the end of the file will suffice (currently 6 seconds)
-Volume is too low, 87-91 dB acceptable (currently 86.1 dB) - you'll need to amplify the file by +2.9 using Effect > Amplify in Audacity

Section 15 PL notes:
-Repeat at 0:40 ("by the accession . . . accession")
-Stumble at 05:04 ("the feeling pl . . . of pleasure")
-Stumble at 05:34 ("can befall a mo . . . father or mother")
-Stumble at 07:31 ("is co . . . to come back")

Once you have made the above changes, re-upload using the same file names. Post in this thread when you have uploaded the edited files and include the new file durations. Wonderful reading, Hopeforce1!

I've uploaded section 18, here's the link(It's 7 minutes 34 seconds long):
https://librivox.org/uploads/alg1001/essaysonart_18_goethe_128kb.mp3
THANKS.
Section 18 PL notes:
02:48 Misreading that changes meaning ("in order to relieve my friend" read as "in order to receive my friend")
Too much silence at end of file; 5 seconds will suffice (currently 6.5 seconds)

The volume of the file is indeed too low as you mentioned. We aim for about 89 dB, with an acceptable range of 87-91 dB, and your file is currently 80.5 dB. You can adjust the input volume before recording to avoid using the amplify feature in Audacity during post-processing. The input volume is the level at which your recording device is receiving your voice while you read. You want to avoid having it set too low or too high. (In your case, it seems the input volume is set too low.) For more information on how to set the input volume, visit the following page in the LibriVox wiki: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Setting_Recording_Input_Level

Adjusting the input volume will help in the future, but Section 18 will need to be amplified, as it has already been recorded. In Audacity, select the whole recording. Click Effect > Amplify. In the Amplification box, enter the number +8.5. Verify that the file is around 89 dB using Checker.

Please edit and re-upload. Thanks so much.
