REvans wrote: May 28th, 2020, 5:41 pm Hello, I would love to read Section 11'The Tale Of Mrs Tittlemouse' please. I am just about to start recording my 1 minute test as I'm new around here, but saw Beatrix Potter and had to jump in.
Thank you,
Ree Evans
Hi REvans and a big welcome to LibriVox! :D I have assigned that section to you but before you record it, please make and upload a 1 minute test to be sure your recording set up is OK. Instructions can be found in our Wiki and in the first post of this project but Here is a video that may help too: How to Make your 1 minute test.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BlaRY_-bcfs and then How to Upload your 1 minute test How to Upload your 1 minute test

I know you have started already so just carry on. And how would you like to be credited in our catalog? What name? most of us use our real name but it is up to you.
Thanks so much Phil, it's great to be here. My test is uploaded so I'll be ready to go once I find out if that's okay. Can I please be credited as Ree Evans.
Thanks again.
Hi again Phil, I've done a few recordings of Mrs Tittlemouse, but they're a bit mouth noisy and pop-y. I'm waiting on a pop filter to be delivered and then I'll do a better recording and send it through. Sorry to take a while. Thanks for being patient with me - it's my first one so I want to get it right!

Be patient, it will all come together. Also, don't be too hard on yourself, your recordings are probably much better than you thing. In other words, don't wait for one to be perfect before submitting it. And you can ask for feedback of course!!!

I just thought I'd chime in: we are so much more critical of our own mouth-noises than anybody elses! When I edit my own recordings they drive me nuts, but I have never, ever reacted to mouth noises in anybody else's recordings... I don't have a pop filter, but I do use the plug-in in Audacity called De-clicker

Thanks so much Katherine. I think I am waaaay too focused on them now! And you're right, no-one else's ever bother me. Do you just use the 'click removal' in the effects drop down menu, or is there an extra plug in that you use?

I had to download it separately as a plugin, and now I find it under Effects in Audacity.
The instructions for installing a plugin is here: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Measuring_Volume_within_Audacity BUT instead of using the file on that page for ReplayGain, download this one: https://forum.audacityteam.org/download/file.php?id=10124

Section 18 is really nicely read (and sung!). One little PL note, Alan:
end -- please add to the outro
At the end of the book, say (in addition):
"End of Peter Rabbit and other Tales, by Beatrix Potter. "
Thanks!
