hi Adrian, and thank you for the fast turn-around :)

sorry, I have not checked it all yet, because I noticed a big problem right from the start and I wanted to let you know before you start on the second act. :?

Wherever the stage direction are at the beginning of a speech, you would have to include the name of the person speaking. For example "Bulger, mildly behind his hand" on page 6. Now with so many parts missing, I think it would take me ages to write them all down as PL notes and I think it would be just as fast if you simply went through the text once again and you quickly see which parts are at the beginning of a line and which are in the middle or at the end. Those you can leave without the character names, because we know who is speaking by then.

And while you are at it, please also include "The persons of the play" always saying the full description, for example "Horace Bream, a young American, read by..." etc

Question for Todd: do you want the introductory note as well ? :hmm: you didn't specify.

Thank you, Sonia. I think I'll have to re-record it. That will be quicker. I should have remembered the rule about citing the name.
So please don't PL this.

A question, is "Bulger" a hard or soft "g"?
And is "Phenyl" pronounced 'fen-il (which seems more appropriate) or 'fee-nile (which is how we pronounced that word in chemistry class).

NO !!! With such a long act it won't be quicker.

The easiest way is to record all the names that appear ONCE, say it like you would say it at the beginning of a line "Ruth, walking to left" - record only "Ruth" in the correct intonation. Etc with all the other names, that will be half a dozen names I predict. Maybe 10.

Then simply listen to the whole recording, check with the text and whenever a direction is at the beginning, copy and paste the correct name from your list in there. That will be very fast with a bit of practice. And less prone to more errors in the text ;)

I personally would have said it Bul-djer. But as long as you're constistent we accept any pronunciation.

I would like the Introductory Note. I find it interesting. I don't think it has spoilers like Hobby-Horse did, and so it can be at the beginning as printed.

:shock: over 40 minutes ! This looks like we have to cut the act in two parts. Excellent job, Adrian. And I'm happy you decided not to re-record it all again but rather go with my copy/paste suggestion. And your level of accuracy was really exceptional, seeing how long the act was. :thumbs:

> at 38:08: (p. 54) "to Dick" – for the same reason as before, I would add "Mrs Gilfillian" here, otherwise it sounds as if Minnie was speaking

> at 39:05 & 39:14: (p. 55 & 56) two mixed-up lines: "Minnie resumes playing softly" needs to come before "Ruth enters...[etc]"

3 seconds is probably fine. It is hard to make the gaps too long....

Removing isolated clicks in the middle of gaps is probably not that important - they will likely vanish anyway when I cut in character lines from their files. Clicks that are within or adjacent to your words should be removed though if you can.
