Hi Rohan! Welcome to Librivox and to the Poetry Collection!
Your recording has the tech specs correct, but the volume is too low. Which recording software are you using? I tried Amplification in Audacity and it worked relatively well. So for this recording, you could apply amplification to bring it to desired volume range, and re-upload your file. But for future recordings, check to see if you can increase the input volume of your microphone in the device you are recording. There is a microphone slider in Audacity, too.

I will be away all next week, so wanted to get this in. I hope there's room; if not we can carry them over.

There's always room. When we reach more than 255 poems in a month, that will be the day! 255 being the limit in the magic window I think.
Thank you Larry! I will listen a bit later.

hello, Amy!
Thank you for your lovely recordings!
The tech specs are all fine, only the volume is lower than desired. Are you using Audacity? You can amplify in Audacity by 10dB each recording and re-upload. Amplification will work on these recordings, but for future recordings I would suggest you check if you can increase the input volume of your microphone so that you record closer to the desired volume range in the first place. Visually in Audacity the waveform should peak above the 0.5 mark, as shown in this picture: https://wiki.librivox.org/images/4/4d/Volume.jpg
So that I can add you in the Readers Catalogue, how would you like to be credited in the catalogue? By your forum name or something else? Thanks!

Hi Rapunzelina,
I would like to do Changed by Charles S. Calverley, he died in 1884; so I guess it's safe for recording in the UK. I sent off the 1 minute test recording, but haven't got a reply yet. I'm sure my hardware & settings are working fine.
Let me know if it's cool to upload. Thanks.
Andrew.

Hi Andrew! Welcome to the poetry collection! Your selection is a nice one to do. You can use this source of public domain poetry https://www.theotherpages.org/poems/calver01.html it's the last poem on this page.
It's a short recording so I'd say it's ok if there happens to be an issue and needs re-recording. You can go ahead and upload and I can also give the file a check, while on your test thread you may get more technical advice if there are any issues.
Thanks! I'm looking forward to it!

Probably hammed it up a bit too much.
Edit: Oops, I just realised that I deleted the 5 seconds of silence out of habit.

Not as hammed up as I would expect for a hammed up recording, Andrew
Tech specs appear to be correct Nice volume and clear sound!
Could you add those lost 5 seconds at the end, and re-upload with this filename spc205_changed_ad_128kb.mp3 (all lower-case)? Thanks! And congrats on your first Librivox recording!

Great! Thank you, Andrew!
Here's your Reader Page in the catalogue: https://librivox.org/reader/14566
and you can also access it from your name-link in the Magic Windows. It lists all the projects you read for, so hopefully it will gradually fill up
It can also help you keep track of your ongoing projects under the "Reader section details" link.
