This is why you should never erase files from your computer until the project has catalogued. Although Lynne surely has them, I've reloaded them from my computer.williamjones wrote: ↑June 17th, 2020, 7:24 pm The Pope's Chess Game audio file still on my computer, but McCloud's Hobby is long gone. Fantastic! Hello,
I just wanted to doubt check if it would be ok to read chapter 1 of the book titled Irish Witchcraft and Demonology
by St. John Drelincourt Seymour for this collection?
Here is the URL to the text: http://www.gutenberg.org/files/43651/43651-h/43651-h.htm
Kind regards,
Chad

Interesting book, Chad, but witchcraft is more of a religion than a hobby so I don't think it fits in this collection. But you being about the only Irish speaker on LV, could I please get you to take a few minutes to coach me on the Irish pronunciations of the proper names on my new solo - James Stephens' The Crock of Gold. Look at the list posted here. You would just record the list, name it crockofgold_pronunciation_128kb, upload it to LynneT's folder and post the link.Horner94 wrote: ↑June 19th, 2020, 8:45 pm Hello,

Michele, the link you've given for a list of difficult irish names takes me to a possibly older version of the project page. There is no list of names for Chad to help with. I mention this merely as a Heads Up! and because I was curious about those difficult names.msfry wrote: ↑June 19th, 2020, 9:02 pm Interesting book, Chad, but witchcraft is more of a religion than a hobby so I don't think it fits in this collection. The "here" link you gave in the Coffee Break post contains this link:williamjones wrote: ↑June 20th, 2020, 6:53 amMichele, the link you've given for a list of difficult irish names takes me to a possibly older version of the project page. If you take this link you'll find yourself in "THE Crock of Gold" project and will find no list of names. At least, that's what I find.
Could this have something to do with changing the project's name to include an initial "The" in the title ?
I'm not going to say anything more about this, for it's merely a matter of curiosity for me but I thought you might like to know.

The list is right under the Summary, in the First Post.

Let this tardy PL OK reply to your lovely Word About Golf contribution be "analogous to an apology". Dealing with elderly family, and becoming more elderly myself, I find myself juggling a lot of balls these day, with a tad less accumin.

PL Notes on Heavy Threads.
This poem is not actually about hobbies, Sarah, so I will not be able to use it here. But, I encourage you to submit it to an ongoing Poetry Collection. Since I have already PL'd it, here are the things that will need changing on this file:
:06-:14 Eliminate the long disclaimer here, and keep the short one at the end of the poem.
Your volume is at 80 dB, barely audible. It needs to be boosted about 8 dB. In Audacity, go Effects/Audacity/type in 8, or use the slider to get there.
Also, I found a more reliable text source for you to use:
