Yes, I did learn to curse in a brand new way. I really hadn't thought about it until I listened back to it. It really is a colorful language. I had a great time with it though and I really enjoyed doing that last line most of all. I love doing these because it helps me to work on my acting skills for VO in lieu of coaching I cannot yet afford at the moment, (saving for that while I narrate books). I have a friend with 30 years experience teaching theater arts who is offering to coach me, and she doesn't want any compensation which I really appreciate. She's involved in theater in San Antonio..., I wonder if she isn't hoping to get another actor for those productions, not that I'm any good as an actor, but I think I would enjoy that if it ever happens.

Well, I think I'd like to do Section 38: Bill Spivins, a rough mountaineer. I think I have it down so I don't sound like Noah. I don't know why, but I just love to talk in these mountain dialects.
Thank you. Did you notice the appendix in the book that describes the dialect in detail?
(Note that I took the part without a real mountain accent.)
Thanks, Todd

I'm glad you pointed out the Appendix, I hadn't seen it, makes for very interesting reading too. I just kinda adlibbed as best I knew how. I'm always talking in these different dielects that I grew up with here in Texas, so it's not too hard to switch over to something like this, though I did have a little trouble with it.
Anyway, here is Bill Spivins. Ready for PL.

Hey Todd, I noticed I left out a line at 2:58 in the script for Noah Setzer in section 38: "Dod Gast Ye Both." The line is "What else did she say, Bill? Mary allus tells yer ol' 'oman ever'thing."
I must have accidentally edited it out of the file before I did the original upload, that's happened to me before. Attention to detail. Anyway, I put it back in and uploaded the file for Noah again. It's ready for a spot PL at 2:58.
The new time on the file is 7:35.

The line you added actually belongs to Walt. Your file was correct before.hsparent55 wrote: ↑June 4th, 2020, 10:12 am Hey Todd, I noticed I left out a line at 2:58 in the script for Noah Setzer in section 38: "Dod Gast Ye Both." You know, you’re right. That’s the second time I confused myself with that line. I guess I’m just getting too old and senile. I stopped myself from doing that before and then later I looked at it and did it anyway. Sorry about that.

The test (over in the other forum) still has some things for you to fix.

I am looking for a PL for He Said and She Said.
He Said and She Said: A One-Act Play by Alice Gerstenberg (1885 – 1972) (BC for this play is benderca)
WARNING: Although the play was published in 1921, Gerstenberg died in 1972. This play is not PD for some countries. Sorry

I took out a couple of the stage directions, when voice tone made them clear and when if left in they would have interrupted the flow, but I left most in. I was considering taking out several more, but I'd like a second opinion. When PLing, please feel free to comment also on the spacing and volume.
Thanks,
TJ
