Hi,

I have made an attempt at the Lady of Scalot, 13th century Italian novellina.

Note that the number of the novellina is 82, not 81 as in the source (which omits to number the proem).
The author is generally known as "Anonymous Florentine of the 13th century".
The complete title of the collection is "Il Novellino. Le ciento novelle antike".
The translation by Roscoe is somewhat loose and inaccurate, but it was the only one I could find.

I've added "I suspect" to 5:15 as it was in my part. And as Heloise is most definitely FRENCH, val-ay is correct, no matter who said it!

The story is practically forgotten in Italy, though it had quite a resonance in British poetry and art.

Certainly, Bill, I'd love you to PL this story. I read it very tongue in cheek, like a drama queen, for it is about a faery gal getting her revenge for being jilted. And a beautiful woman. And a handsome knight. And about how dogs make you love them 'til you're besotted, which they do!!!!! All the elements of a good faery love story!
