It also happens to be my first upload. So, if anything is off, please let me know :)

Thank you jsmolin, welcome to Librivox, good first reading. The volume is a bit low at 84.4 dB, you should aim for your waveforms to peak near the 0.5 mark, like this:

Image

You can check your volume using our Checker program - see info at http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Checker You will find the volume in decibels on the Information tab. For your information, we look for around 89 dB (87-91 is OK)

*Please let me know under what name would you like to appear in the LV catalog and if you have one, we can put your personal URL link on your catalog page too.
You can view your brand new LV Catalog page by clicking your forum name in the Magic Window.
Thank you for the feedback :) Shall I re-upload? I would be delighted to have my name be jsmollin in the LV catalog. Thank you so much!

Thanks!

My name is Andrew H. Hunt, and this is my attempt: https://librivox.org/uploads/aradlaw/sleep_dickinson_ahh_128kb.mp3

This is my first recording for Librivox, and I would like to hear your input on how I can improve my setup or delivery.

Between illnesses, work, and vacation, May wasn't my best Librivox month. But I'm back and ready to do some more recording, editing, and PLing!

Tes, please upload an edited version, use the same filename. 'jsmollin' is down as your LV Catalog name.

Welcome to LibriVox, good first reading Jazzgirl. :D There are a couple of technical issues to correct
- your bitrate is ~93 kbps (variable), we need 128 kbps (constant) this is set during the save/export file
- the is an extra .mp3 in the filename, the .mp3 is added automatically when saved
- the filename is incorrect with dickenson rather than dickinson used (best to copy/paste the filename given in the opening post and substitute your initials)

Please correct and upload a new file (same filename) thanks .

Thank you Andrew, good first reading, however there are a couple of tech issues to address..
- the file is in stereo, we need a mono recording
- your file's bitrate is 136 kbps (variable), we need a bitrate of 128 kbps (constant)
- the volume is very low at 59.8 dB, you should aim for your waveforms to peak near the 0.5 mark, like this:
