I discussed this with my sister and since she doesn't have much time right now, we decided to make the switch and I'll be reading the first chapter of the book. Assigning this section officially over to myself then. I think I can find time to record it this afternoon.

as promised, I finished the first section. Now this was quite tricky, switching into 4 different languages, one of which is Spanish, which I don't speak... :? I can vouch for the accuracy of the French and German pronunciations, and I had tremendous help from fellow Librivoxer Epachuko for the Spanish. :9: This is the first time I'm recording anything in Spanish, but apparently I didn't do too bad. 8-)

Have fun listening, Larry :)

Hi Sonia. The Latin is after every maxim. The pages are 70-76, and are written in italics. :)
Thanks for your help. :)

You dazzle me, Sonia!
Quite a masterpiece of linguistic gymnastics.
The Spanish sounds fine to me, which I know enough of to get around.

So, you have the golden PL OK

Very good reading! Thanks so much.

sorry I don't see any Latin, unless you mean the Roman numerals at the beginning (not at the end) of each maxim, in front of every title, which is in italics. :? For example the first of your maxims would be p. 70: "cxxi. Do not make a business of what is no business." You would read the Roman numerals as English numbers, so: "One hundred and twenty-one" and after that the title of the maxim, which is in English.

Maybe there is something else I'm missing, but apart from the numbers I don't see any Latin.

thank you Larry :9: yes it is tricky to juggle and switch in one section with all the languages. I notice that I move my mouth and tongue differently, depending on what language I speak, I even seem to get another voice or cadence. I don't notice it that much when I speak one language at a time, but when I switch that often, I'm aware of it. That makes it difficult.

@Wayne: thanks for the ultra-fast turn-around

Here it is, better 6 mins 39 seconds (I'd misread one of the maxim numbers, dang roman numerals)
