Hello there,

I'm a newbie and I'd like to get some feedback on my 1 Minute Test:
https://librivox.org/uploads/tests/test_cloudancer.mp3

I'm using Audacity on Windows and a USB mic.

Looking forward to starting recording,

Cloudancer

P.S. Oh and I'd also appreciate some feedback on my English accent since it's not my native language. Do you find it irritating; shall I stick to my native language or can I also record in English?

Welcome!

I love the accent! You're perfectly understandable, and I think you'd be a welcome addition to any English project. 8-)

I would suggest some noise reduction to take care of the background white noise. Here are a couple resources:
text instructions: http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Noisecleaning_With_Pics
video: https://youtu.be/rvhqw7zBmEo

My settings are as follows:
Noise reduction: 10-16 (I suggest about 12 for you)
Sensitivity: [default]
Frequency Smoothing: [default]

That's it! If you want a second opinion on the noise cleaning results, you can post your new recording here. Otherwise, I'm going to mark this off as OK, and you're ready to go. 8-)

Thank you very much, I'm glad you think so!
Right, I've tried the noise reduction and here's the result:

Sounds great to me, and none of the tech specs changed, so that's good. ;)

I think you can confidently enter into any project you wish. 8-)
