Hi Anna. Welcome to LibriVox.

Your test recording is in stereo and needs to be mono. You didn't mention what recording software you are using, so hopefully the following will be useful.

Here is how you set this in Audacity for all future recordings.

I would also recommend you apply a little noise reduction to tone down the background hiss. I pass in Audacity with the default settings should do the trick.

Your volume is close to the top of the accepted range of 86-92 db. You might consider deamplifying by -2db to get closer to the target of 89 db.

I'm using Garage Band and as a complete newbie am struggling to understand the settings but will persevere! Thanks again :D
