Thanks for doing that. I've spot checked the error and the silence at the end and those are now both fine. You might need to be a bit gentler with the compression/make-up though - it's gone from being 3dB too quiet to 13dB too loud. For a quick fix, you can amplify by -13, but next time around you can soften the compression by using a Threshold that's closer to zero.
If you're using Audacity, it's useful to download the ReplayGain plugin (which you can find at
https://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?t=63067 ) - this is the standard we use to measure loudness against so will give you an exact measure of how much to amplify by.

I appreciate the feedback and in my next recording will work harder for better compression/volume.
Hopefully, after a couple of readings under your belt it'll all feel a bit more instinctive and a bit less like work.

Just a thought...we have a number of people that seem to be first-time volunteers at the moment and because of the lockdown we're all becoming a lot more familiar with meetings on Zoom. Would it be helpful to have a half-hour session where I share my screen and take people through mastering a file for Librivox in Audacity where you can ask any questions that I won't know the answers to?

Skyrider - Yes, I would appreciate a Zoom meeting with all newbies as long as it's not in the pre-dawn hours of U.S. Eastern standard time!

Re: Section 18 of the Book of the Thousand Nights.
I made the recommended corrections and heard back from Paul in April that it was OK, yet I see in the Completed list this still says "See PL Notes", instead of "Complete". Is there something else I need to do? I'd like to do another section, but want to be sure the last two are OK. Thanks.

Hi Lisa...
No, it still needs a bit of work - see the post at the top of this page (specifically about loudness).
Cheers,
Paul

I would like to record "Section 47 - The 21st Day of the Month" if this is not taken.
Thank you.

3rd Attempt!! I have uploaded the CORRECTED mp3 for the Tenth Day Part 2.
Spot PL OK - third time's the dream, as they say.
I've also allocated you section 47 as requested. You've still got section 44 as well.
Cheers,
Paul

Wonderful! Glad it fits the bill.
I posted the completion of Section 44 May 14 with upload link. Just let me know if you are unable to see it.
I’ll begin Section 47.
Thanks.

Sorry - I don't know how I missed it first time. That's all good apart from a typo in the file name, but I understand that that's something the MC can easily fix at cataloguing time.

Hi I'd like to read The Twenty-Seventh Night of the Month, part 2 which is number 54 on the list.
