Did you do the 1-minute test? *checks* No, I guess you didn't.
Two tech settings to fix, and then a comment on your sound quality. I'll assume you're using Audacity.
1. Your volume is too high. Visually, you should aim for your wave forms to peak near the 0.5 mark, like this:
Try moving your mic slider down a bit, maybe one full notch. (If it's at 0.95 now, move it to 0.85.)
2. Bit rate is variable; it needs to be 128 constant. This is set when you export to MP3. When you go to export, on the screen where you enter the file name for the MP3, change the Bit Rate mode to Constant, and the quality should be 128 kbps. You should only have to set it once; it'll remember the setting until you change it again.
Quality: what kind of mic are you using? Some of the sounds are cut out or not picked up, making it hard to understand. (Listen to the first 10 seconds or so to especially hear it.) Does the mic have noise cancelling? If so, try turning it off.
Recording itself:
0:10 - please remove "the title of the poem is" and just say the name of the poem.
1:32 - There's about 1/2 second of silence at the end; LV recordings leave 5 seconds at the end to make sure MP3 players don't cut off the recording.
File name: should be rhymesofchildhood_76_guest_128kb (you're not the author. Edgar A Guest is.).
I'd recommend adjusting the tech settings, then heading over to Listeners & Editors Wanted with another sample recording to try to work through the sound quality issue. Then when it's resolved (hopefully), come back and re-record the poem.
Thanks! Holler if you have questions.

Can I claim 54,75 and 85?
Just let me know if I am becoming too much of a 'hog'.

Hi Tricia,
I'd love to read #50 (Dinner Time) and #51 (Castor Oil).
This is my first reading after my 1-minute test was OK'd.
I'd like to be noted as "Wayne Perry"
Looking forward to contributing!
