My last section is also the last section of the book. Is it sufficent to just say at the end "end of the [book title]' or do I have to preceed it with the "end of chapter,..."?

At the end of the section, say:
"End of section [number]"

At the end of the book, say (in addition):
"End of The Cambridge Modern History. Volume 1, The Renaissance."
So precede with "end of chapter."
